I'm a newbie so just bare with me. What program do I need to eit sprites and how do I make my own sequences for use?

I'm going to assume you're talking about making graphics for the game.

Technically, all you need is MS paint, but not many would choose to use its limited tools. Paint Shop Pro is pretty good for editing and even comes with something called Animation Shop which can help a bit with making sequences. I've also heard that Blender is a good tool, good for making new 3d things that can be turned into sprites.

Thanks alot you guys! I have MS paint so I can edit, I'm just worried, will it be clear (as in see through) where the picture is white? And how do I upload them into my sprite load chache?

About it being clear: No, just dont select that part. And i have no idea about the rest of your questions. *COUGH*

Yes, it will Dink automatically make white parts clear. (Or black parts if you so specify in dink.ini)
