Rampant pollutair ehasl has stormed the fresh waters and greeny trees of The Dink Network with Bangerang Boomerang 2 - Fun Version. What's so fun about it? My guess is Dink says an absurdly long name, and all of the reviews seem to agree that is quite fun indeed. Fun, fun, Fun the Hun is going to pillage your village and go ape on your drapes.

Hey, nice. Please don't tell in the reviews what exactly happens, even if you don't like the file.

But, hehe, tonight I was dreaming that you released my not-so-updated version of Skeleton E and called it "total crap". I have updated it now, so it is ready for release.

"Hmm, maybe I shouldn't call you stuff if I want you to upload my file"

Hmm, yeah, perhaps so. "Islamist"?

Addressing your other points:

1. Yep, you're right. The submitting page doesn't have that rule listed. I'm supposing that it was common knowledge at the time the page was created; thus, it didn't cross redink's mind to list it. Do you not remember the period of time in which heaps of junk files (including dumb skeletons) were submitted? Anyway, perhaps that rule will be listed once again whenever redink decides to update the page, or whenever I can access it myself.

2. You're right, exceptions can be made, but won't always be. An exception probably will not be made for your skeleton. I don't know exactly what redink's reasoning would be, but for me, I don't see much good in anything more than Skeleton B. Yes, it has a few flaws. From what I can tell, though, those flaws won't affect non-ambitious, newbie D-Mod authors much. In addition, for those who are more skilled in the practice of creating a D-Mod, they're probably bright enough to adjust the skeleton files appropriately for their own needs.

Just my two cents.

I agree with Tal, however, I think Skeleton B needs to be deleted, and a FLAWLESS skeleton needs to be uploaded. Come to think of it, I think Josh's skeleton is without serious flaws, so yeah, we wouldn't need another one.

But seriously, Skeleton B can be a real pain. It's useless.

Have a skeleton contest! I would rather prefer one without all those annoying help lines.

keep it real
well the dink death sequence needs to be loaded in dink.ini cause i made the that dink.ini when the alternative heros contest was going on and i had all dink graphics changed to a slayer and i guess i forgot to do that.

skeleton b has some errors and useless stuff and the dink.ini sucks so yeah i dont like it either.

The problem with multiple skeletons is it causes confusion for new developers. They get told to 'grab a skeleton', and they're confronted with 3 or 4 different options, and don't really have the knowledge to know which one is better.

I'll start some topics on an 'Ultimate' skeleton, which will probably be heavily based on existing ones.

Hmm, take a look at mine (the updated version)...

But hey, I got an idea. What about a Skeleton contest where all the old Skeletons also are included? Then everyone can review and vote for just a couple skeletons that will still be on the network. Maybe one for newbies and technology freaks and one for those who only want the pure basics.

A contest is also a bad idea. It idolizes one, faults and all, whereas a discussion will result in the best one possible.

We'll also have to discuss what a skeleton is... to me, it shouldn't include any tutorials, graphics, tiles, etc.

Yes, we need a discussion. New thread?

I think at least Mike Snyder's tiles are a natural part of a skeleton, as they are really used a lot, and were included in Skeleton B.

I also think savegames dependent Continue button is fine, but no absolute must. The other main feature of my Skeleton E is built-in support for a title screen intro and automatic game start. I think all these things are natural parts of a D-Mod, and thus of a skeleton.
