Who wants a DinkC editor program?
Hey, listen to this: I'm creating a neat DinkC script editor with fill-ins and stuff, but I kinda abandoned it. Should I continue it?
I'll post 1 or 2 screenshots later, they're on my other pc...
Oh, and I'm creating the editor with an application creator called MultiMedia Fusion.

Do you want to incur my wrath?

Okay! I'll get workin' on it again, but first I'll send in some screenies!

It looks nice, continue if you want, although there is some GOOD DinkC editors out there too
Is anyone aware of what day it is?
EDIT @ SabreTrout: I wrote this on april fools!

I can't see the pictures anyway :\
Really? Why?
Well thanks everyone. I'm going to continue this, though the program I use is not capable of the syntax highlighting stuff. But that won't be really a problem, huh?

Saturday, duh.

Looks really good. Am looking forward to it, a new dinkc editor is always grand. the best of luck.
Your editor just doesn't "feel" right for a Windows program (though redink would say the same thing about DFArc). The captions on the buttons are too large and if you look closely you'll find that the colors for the title bar mismatch the main area.
I'm not saying you shouldn't make it or anything. I'm just saying it looks kind of like a 16-bit program.
Trying to offer some constructive criticism. If it was too harsh, sorry.

Now I can see them, I couldn't at that time

@Merlin: Well, the program I use to create the application is capable of creating simple games and applications, but it's not too powerful eg semi-3d stuff is just possible but no further.
Also this is my first app instead of a game and the background is no boring gray but a gradient.
Oh, and the screenshot was taken in Windows 98, so...
I think my first beta version will be done in a few days, so I need some beta-testers who'd like to spend some time tesing the application, finding bugs and giving suggestions. If you are interested PM me or reply here.
EDIT: Well well well! I worked hard today and I managed to get a beta up already! Come 'n get it if you want!

The next thing I am going to add is Mini-Wizards. This means you open a Wizard, insert some basic information and the line of code is added!
Example: You want someone to talk. Open the character talk Wizard, give up the text, color number and person who says it and press ok. Then the entire code for the things you gave up is created.
I will create a Wizard editor too, then. Good idea, huh?

Easy DinkC had something similar
Uh... won't anyone test it? Well, okay then... everyone should wait 'till it's completely finished, then.
my advice to anyone making a dink c editor is just have 3 things.
1. autocomplete/intellisense/whatever the hell you wanna call it
2. debugging/the red squiggly thing under errors
3. no extra crap
make one like that and it would be the best thing in the world.

aww too bad that the program I use to create it is not capable of such things...
Wow! I should just give up my simple script editor then...
At least I gained some experience by making it.

Sorry, Sabre. I was just lazy and was using an abbreviation. But you should feel complimented. I only give nicknames to people I like.
Firstly I would love to beta it. Maybe it might get me motivated again.
Secondly, if you don't mind I have some constructive critism about its appearance (and please be bare in mind with me since I am someone who wants to be an author I have to have some idea about asthetics and what affect they have on people).
1 - Try making them as 3D as possible so that it looks more modern.
2 - Try getting a XPish colour scheme if possible (maybe through a skin even).
3 - Try some interesting fonts or even create a new one if possible (or maybe use the Dink one if possible).

Typing "the fish" as an abbreviation to "Sabre"??
No you shouldn't. If more people create editors there is more choice for us dmod makers. Which is a good thing. I for one never liked any of the existing editors. Maybe I will like yours. Besides competition incourages improvement. Perhaps his ideas could inspire you to some great new height you would not have otherwise reached. That is why there is anti-monopoly laws in most countries.
Well the fish is shorter and easier to type than SabreTrout
Aww I'll try to add in stuff that's hard to do in MultiMedia Fusion, but since it is not a programming language it IS very limited...
I'm gonna see if I can get some sort of auto-fill working and I am also going to make sure you can select and add in the sound/music/graphics you want easily.
Oh, btw, it has a MIDI music player too, just a bonus
About the XP colours, though, er... I don't know if it would work, since I'm creating the thing in Windows 98. I also can't give the buttons a Windows XP button face... meh.
I'll probably change the background.
EDIT: Yap, I got one beta-tester now.

Well I am sorry if I offended ypu. That was not my purpose.
Well my email is yalnar99.25aqi@gmail.com if you want to email a test version. If you do so I am VERY willing to test it.
No offense taken, I'm just acting like a fellow at the moment.
