Dink runs too fast. Where's the Vsync I must turn on? And don't tell me "at videocard preferences", be specific please

Don't you have to adjust the refresh rate? Or is that the Vsync. Go to the control panel, display, settings, advanced, monitor. There you can adjust it.

I can change the refresh rate, but it doesn't help.

It will be in your video card settings (haha). Go to the advanced area and search the ATI- or nVidia-specific tabs.

Dink running too fast is caused by Vsync? I highly doubt it. Vsync needs to be turned on if you're experiencing graphical glitches, where you see the screen being teared apart slightly everytime the screen refreshes.

Wanna bet? Dink uses a very old version of DirectX that had some serious rendering issues.

I found some ATI tabs, but could not find any Vsync option... is it possible that I don't have it? or do I need to look harder?

Vsync is the same as Refresh rate

If you don't have a V-Sync option, the next best thing is to set your monitor refresh rate to 60 hz. It will literally kill your eyes in Windows, but it will be fine in Dink. Just be sure to change it back when you're done playing.

I've done that, but it doesn't make a difference. I can turn hardware acceleration off, but then Dink is just móre hyper, so fast you can barely see him!

VSync is NOT the same as Refresh Rate. While related, they are two totally different things.

Christiaan: Are you using the latest ATi Catalyst drivers (IIRC, 5.2)?

Ok, I downloaded the Catalyst Control Center, and I found an option named "Triple Buffering". is that the same?

Propably not but if it makes Dink slower it doesn't matter.

As if Dink's not slow enough at times...just tell him to stop smoking crack.

No, Triple Buffering != VSync. You may find it in the DDC Panel but it's been so long since I've used Windows I can't remember.
