What sort of things can I use to make a boncas cave a little less boring. Them not having hands eliminates many of my usual choices for spicing up interiors.

And would you say they are mammal or reptile?

How about lanterns (picked up w/teeth) or tables of food (maybe sevants bring them) .

BTW, what happened to your hands, joshriot?

A cozy little Bonca Cave could always use the following:

* A few duck heads will make the other Boncas go mad with envy.

* Even more so than duck heads, human skeletons will be quite the attention-getter.

* Treasure Chest, to store your valuables.

* Thorny Vines insure that you and your fellow Boncas will have a nice place to sit and chat.

* Remember: your cave is your bathroom.

* It is always nice to leave behind a few of the possessions of the previous owners, to show off to your friends.

* Have some food gathered about in times of hunger; fresh duck, some fish, fruits, etc.

* Drag some Slayer and Dragon corpses to your home, and then watch your friends go into a furious rage.

And so on.

And boncas are birds, silly.

All great suggestions, but I'm trying to make the boncas NOT seem really bloodthirsty evil creatures, but misunderstood...

oh how cute, i think this is a really exceptional idea. boncas should be portrayed as non-violent and good creatures. but also with gore in their caves.

Mammals would be my guess, but it's really a tough call.

Ehem. They are most likely mammals...

Looking at numerous pieces of evidence, it is nearly certain that dinosaurs are mammals. For one, their posture- a reptile is cold-blooded, and is near the ground for heat. Dinosaurs were often very high off the ground or even standing on two legs, so it would be nearly impossible for them to survive if they were cold-blooded lizards. Also, in animals like the brachiosaurus and apatosaurus, with long necks, it would be impossible for a cold-blooded heart to pump blood all the way up the neck and into the head. This is a task that only a four-chambered, warm-blooded heart could accomplish.

Another bit of evidence which shows them to be mammals is the fact that they were generally devoted mothers (at least from evidence that's been gathered) and they would protect their young. Modern crocodiles do the same thing, but most modern lizards do not.

Ok, so where am I going with all this? I would say that boncas are very close to dinosaurs, and since they walk on two legs not close to the ground, I would call them mammals.

(whew, that was long...)

I think you put a "little" too much effort in there Alli!!

Joshriot : At the moment I do have some gore, and I'll probably put out a bit more just to make it all lovely and messy.

Excuse my insanely long message... Paleontology/archaeology/biology are my areas of interest. I tend to not shut up about things that interest me.

Hey, allikitten, figure this one out. Bonca aren't reptilian because of the aforementioned reasons, I completely agree. So, what are slayers?

: Hey, allikitten, figure this one out. Bonca aren't reptilian because of the aforementioned reasons, I completely agree. So, what are slayers?

Slayers... let's see. They walk with an upright posture, which is indicative of mammals. But they also have ridges on their backs, as common iguanas do. Ridges are a far more common reptilian trait than mammilian. However, any of the suborder stegosauria of the Cretaceous period also had ridges, and they were likely to be mammals. So it's a tough call (and I'm not even taking into account their claws, which seem to be more avian than anything), but I would likely say reptile if I had to make a judgement.

This is making me sound like I'm such a dork.

The stegosauria were mammilian? Wow! I would have never guessed. While we're on the topic, what are goblins?

Didn't you see my first post about how dinosauria were *likely* mammilian? (Remember, this is *my* hypothesis, not scientifically proven theory, and anyways they're also closely related to avians, but i think i'll just gloss over that for now) And goblins are fallen Elves... watch LOTR.

Alright, I get it. But uhm... Are slimes walking pieces of snot, or merely some glue that was animated by some mad wizard trying to reincarnate their died granny's but used a wrong ingredient?

Dinosaurs came long time before mammals. They are dinosaurs. Yes, dinosaurs are dinosaurs! Hmmmm... Did that sound a little weird? I'm right, at least...

And boncas look amphibian. Yes, they are amphibia(n?).

Boncas and Slayers are dinosaurs. A Bonca might be half-dino, half-snake, but still... its a dino, IMHO.

Slimes are... slime. Duh Actually, probably some sort of... flatworm thing.

I didn't think about snakes not having arms... OK. Boncas walk like two-legged reptiles, are arm-less like snakes and else they look pretty amphibian... Maybe that was what Seth/Justin was thinking?
