The Dink Network

Hi!

I started playing Dink and a few DMODS a couple of days ago... It's a great game! The problem is, I can hear sounds (punching, bugs 'screamin' and other sounds) but not the music there's supposed to be! Can anyone tell me why that is?

Well, first of all, can your computer play midi (.mid) files on its own?

Yes I can open midi files on my computer... but still no music when playing the game!

That sounds fairly weird, have you installed version 1.07 of Dink??

Sometimes if you load the game, quit, then load it again, the music will play. Also, try not to have any other music playing at the same time.

I downloaded 1.06... should I get 1.07 instead?

That was a random suggestion that could just as well work as not. If you're running on XP, you should get the version 1.07 patch anyway though.

Thx for your suggestions, actually the problem is: when I play Dink or a DMOD "normally", there are sounds but no music. When I disable sounds, I can hear music but no other sounds.

P.S. I'm on Win Me...

I had the same thing. Maybe you could try to close all the other program in the taskbar 'cept the firewall and anti-virus, and then start the game. If there is no music, imediatly quit, and start it again. If this doesn't work, I don't know what will bar upgrading you sound card...

Sometimes the music works, sometimes it doesn't, but you can always hear the punches.
