I am using Win XP, and I installed the Dink 1.07 patch. I try to ran Dinkedit, it kicked me back out. I tryed to hange compatibility to Win98/Me it didn't work. How to biring it to work?
Dink, Dinkedit and d-mods work fine, but Dinkedit for editing d-mods doesn't work

Can anybody help me?

I prefer DinkEdit, but that's because I had been using it for over a year before I first tried WinDinkEdit, and was too set in my ways to change.

heh, the same goes for me. I tried WinDinkEdit for some minutes but soon noticed that DinkEdit is better, and that's about it. From what I've heard though, there are certain some features that indeed are much better in DE than in WDE.

Especially when it comes to placing sprites (and other things) at exact positions. AFAIK, there's no way of using CTRL+arrows or any other method to move things around pixel by pixel in WDE.

i use DE and WDE, i use WDE for things like deleting screens, and adding experience to unimportant enemies when i cant be arsed to give them a script. i use DE for everything else, because it seems more simle.

I use WDE, but i used DE in my first D-Mod though. Whne I discovered WDE I just start thinking about how much DE suck, sorry to say it, I know there is somwone here that is using DE that hates WDE, but i think the oposite

i'm sure if i could realy be botherd, i would switch compleatly to WDE because it looks a lot better.

oops, i never looked at that post, i probably should have, because it reads wrong. what i meant was it looks like it has a lot more features, and would increase productivity. i am actualy a very un-superficial person.

Hey Im gonna start making D-Mods soon...now that Ive finished playing all the good D-Mods and am almost finished beta testing a few I want to know.

Should I start with DinkEdit or WindowsDinkEdit? Can I get a response from Redink1 or SimonK or Sabretrout?

i know you said you wanted advise advise from redink1 sabertrout or simonk, but my humble advise would be to use WDE, because it has more features. i only dont like it because im used to DE. well, its just my advise.

It seems to me like WinDinkEdit is better, but is different to use from DinkEdit and since most people know that they didnt bother to learn it. Is that true?

I suppose it's a matter of taste. Both have their good sides, though I still think that DinkEdit is better than WinDinkEdit.

What features does WDE have over DE anyway??
The fact that you can see 5 small screens at once? Some silly sprite library? Please, someone seriously explain to me why you prefer WDE over DE.

DinkEdit is faster to use, simpler and I prefer the interface much better than in WDE. It also has a few features that were left out from WDE.

I would recommend using DinkEdit. By all means, use WinDinkEdit if you ever need to delete a screen, but generally speaking, DinkEdit is the most user friendly (in my opinion).

I ONLY use DinkEdit though. And it does me nicely.

I dunno how you guys can make a house in DE, not a regular house but the large ones, with pub and such, you guys can make that in DE and I have to work hard to fix it in WDE where is should be way easier that DE I think.

Actually I'm quite sure that it's easier to do that in DinkEdit, since you can place sprites exactly where you want and all. It's not hard at all!
