Organized chat
As discussed before, the Dink chat isn't dead yet. Still it can be awfully quiet from time to time. So what do you do when you want to know for sure that there is someone to talk to? Well, you could go and talk to something in real life, but if this is somehow not your cup of tea you could get to the Dink chat at some randomly predetermined time to make sure there is someone to talk to.
I would like to propose such a random time. This random time would be May 10th 2014 from 10:00 UTC. This is around 22:00 in New Zealand, around noon in Western Europe and really early in the morning in the Eastern USA (6:00 actually). Obviously this won't suit everyone, especially if you do not like to get up at 6 am but you can't please everyone. Perhaps people in North America can join in the action later or the time can be made to be a little bit later if people down under don't mind. (Or a lot later if people in Australia can be convinced to chat on Sunday morning.)
Now if people want to join in, let your voice be heard so we can count on you. The final date and time will also be determined based on which people would like to attend, so if you can post which times could be possible for you we can see if another time might be even better. Also, if you have any ideas for things we can actually talk about we might not have such an awkward silence together...
EDIT: Oh, and if you don't want to install all kinds on odd java plugins as required by the 'chat' button on the Dinknetwork menu you can simply use webchat, you should choose #dinksmallwood as the channel.
EDIT2: If you don't know your local time in UTC, check online, for example here.

Wheeeee. It's actually not too much trouble for me to get up at 6 in the morning. So I should be there.
I'm in, unless something else comes up from now til then, but it probably wont.
This is something I've been harbouring to do for a while, but never could be bothered to go at it by myself. Everyone else in the chat was just like "Meh, WHATEVER."
So, of course I'll be there.
This looks like a fairly handy reference for checking your timezone: http://www.worldtimezone.com/

Doubt I can make it, but maybe I'll stop by at some point, for just a sec.
6 AM, yeeeesh. I dunno.
If I can make it (and get myself up early enough!), I will be there!
Way too early in the AM for me. You kids have fun.
Just an hour and 10 minutes(ish) to go before we get to the marked time folks! Just a friendly reminder.
Wellll crap, I may have forgotten about it...
Maybe another time then... (Talk about anything interesting?)
If any of you are still on, I'll take a look.

Hmmm.... I'm using Freenode and I've reached the channel, but I can't seem to type anything...? Anybody know what's wrong?
Edit: Ok, I finally got it. I had to use a different IRC and deal with some stupidity for a moment but I'm in now.

How much longer is it going to be on, I might go on my computer then
Yes indeed.
Many thanks to the people who joined in for our organized chat. 't was fun. We'll be sure to do something like this again some time, maybe not every week but once in a while should be fun. Perhaps we'll chose a time a bit more forgiving for our US dinkers then. (Respect for Cocomonkey and Leprochaun who turned up in the early morning anyway!)
