It rubs the lotion on its skin...
I was wondering since we have such a diverse people from many places, if any one in TDN was affected by SARS or was in a city close to the SARS epidemic.

I was no where near it, I dont think we(in my state) had a single case (if we had we probably blamed it on West Nile). I think i probably move up sate if people in my town were getting sick or something

I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to.I guess.
Not likely. The danger of sars is from the panic created from the media hyper-inflamation of such a minor thing. Like really.
It isn't that big in the scheem of things. Probably, all the money spent by citizens on those near useless masks could have been spent on the the causes and eradication of sars right from the start and it would have been a much smaller threat.
Also, I think that the global total for sars cases is much less that 10k, so therefore less than 0.00017 percent of the worlds population have it.
Not to say that your concern is unwarented, its just that it could be better put to use in other ways *I* think

Ya. the average age of those who died is 70. It's just wierd because it looks like something else until later. Handguns and bad tires kill more people, but that is old news.

grrr.. Look at this:
http://www.who.int/csr/sars/en/
You are right about the number of cases, but just a few weeks ago, there were LOTS of new cases every day, and it increased so much that the entire population of the world would be infected before december or so. The number of casualties was "only" about 10% of the number of cases, BUT the number of recovered cases (excuse my english. hehe..) was low too. That could mean that many of those who were still sick could die within a month or so, and THAT would mean maybe 15-30% would die. SARS seems to only kill people with bad immune system, which means old people, already sick people AND HIV-infected people. In Africa, it would maybe kill 40% or so, if it had continued like it looked like it would. (again, excuse my english.. )
