Anyone think this forum layout is a bit weird?
I think it pleasant, like Deviant art's.
Yeah, it seems to suit the site more than other layouts would. We like our dragon carcasses dead, and our layouts simple.
This is the only forum with a nice layout, others have so many categories and subcategories.

Thankfully, usually those forums at least have a "view unread posts since last visit" feature (albeit often hidden, forcing you to guess the correct URL) that collects all the posts into one place, making reading most forums on the internet... remotely tolerable.

And all of the topics get love on the Dink Network. There isn't an excessive list of categories and sub-categories that no one cares about.
That is mostly true... I do enjoy that. Never really looked at things that way.
I don't know why that's never crossed my mind. The post nesting is a neat feature, but it can get confusing and/or unpleasant to the eyes after several posts. I don't know how well that would mesh with nesting, though honestly I wouldn't be totally opposed to eliminating the nesting altogether in favor of pages. So many people disregard the proper chain of replies in nesting as it is.
Don't we already have pages...
You click a banana up there ^ and you get pages of only trolling bananas and junk
Click the D and you get development questions
chest will offer discussion on files
Flame is the preview threads and so on... why do we need more pages??
As to nesting - I agree this doesnt seem to work and makes things so weird because either you all need to do it - or not at all.

Actually one thing I really would like to see is an IGNORE button - click, input their name and click ignore and that is it - no more being able to see the trolls

i like the layout, its nice and simple. unlike others ive seen which are so complex i dont bother.
MsDink, the proposed pages in question would be pages to threads. Let's suppose we see the first 15 posts in a thread, move to the next page, see 15 more posts, and so on. Just to clarify.

I used to dislike this forum way back when because it was during the advent of the new style of forums like you see them today. But now, I really love how this place stands out and how it feels like "coming home".
How about making the login buttons and search box a tad bit bigger? ......oh and we need the sigs

I personally think the sticky threads need to stand apart more from the rest of the threads, but other than that, I like the layout.
The tag line was implemented in place of sigs. I like it a lot better, it's much more clean.

The tags here are situated in a way that seems to genuinely associate them with an account. Forum signatures are little more than abominable, repetitive eyesores.

I like signatures only when it allows small signature pictures to be embedded AND there's a clear divison between post body and signature.
For example, I hate the signature system of Gamefaqs.

If it's done properly, it's not bad at all. A clear distinction is necessary. But again, I think tags are good enough for us - and I will abandon this site completely if image signatures are ever incorporated.
Can't stand normal people forums lay out just seems to complicated compared to this.
I like the layout.
I think the actual appearance is rather ugly, with weird gradients, too many sharp corners, and poor colour choices. I suppose I do like it, though, and would be sad were it changed.

This is the best forum layout possible. Well, maybe not 100% possible, but 99% possible.
