I HATE VIRUSES!!
My ducking laptop was infected my a duckin virus. Luckily, most of my important stuff was on my desktop. And I'm trying to save some of the more "memorable" stuff from my laptop, onto my outside hard drive. I hope the virus doesn't follow into that too, cause it would suck to lose some of the stuff, be it important or not, but there is stuff from the past two years, and the whole laptop was almost full so... yeah, it sucks. I don't think viruses can actually follow the files into an outside hard drive though, unless I copy some certain files, am I right?
I wonder what joy the virus guys get for putting these things up there. In the end, this was all YouTube's and SME's fault, for deleting the ducking videos for copyrights and forcing people to find alternative, which seemingly are dangerous, ways to watch the videos. Ducking YouTube and SME, someone should ducking sue those she dogs.

That means no historical hero II

No, Historical Hero, gladly, was on my desktop at this moment. Had it been a few months earlier, I would indeed have lost it.
Copy them from a USB to your desktop otherwise your files are ducked.
Get AVG Free edition and scan those files you're transferring just to be safe. It's an easy to install, easy to use Anti Virus that doesn't really need that much memory.
Problem is, I can't download anything to my laptop again, cause it deleted all my Internet browsing files. So in other words, I'd had to risk my desktop for them. Guess I'll wait until Monday to get the laptop completely cleaned, and then try to move those files on the cleaned laptop. If that brings the virus back, at least there's nothing I can lose, except money of course.
1.) procure a usb stick
2.) download Avira antivirus, Spybot search and destroy, and Hijack this!
3.) update all programs on usb BEFORE plugging it into laptop.
4.) boot laptop in safe mode and run the programs

Kyle is right, AVG free edition is pretty cheap.

I thought free edition was FREE

Addictive? Noticed the magic word "fabulous" in there?
Yeah, this is the reason 'fabulous' was invented. This makes it worthwhile.
I know what "fabulous" means. Doesn't mean it's not addictive.
Ok, that attempt at trying to come back with a joke only pushed me into the non-heterosexual corner. Fail.

Be quick. Last time the laptop in MY house had to be reseted with a new system because the virus overtook the control panel so u could'nt uninstall most corrupted stuff
Mine was overtaken so badly in five minutes, that I don't have a choice but to get a new system.
The "virus guys" don't get any joy for writing viruses, they get money. This is how the business works. As for copying your files to an external hard drive, most malware won't "follow" them. There are some exceptions: A file infector can infect your original files, adding his code to them. Most worms will detect a new drive attached to your computer, copy themselves on it, then add an autorun.inf file, that will allow them to run, and infect any computer that the usb flash drive / external hard drive is plugged in.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Another common source of viruses is people you've angered on the Internet. Which in Skull's case is just as likely.
I love Linux. I don't have to worry about viruses.

USB drives can be virused too, scan 'em to be sure before you copy anything over. I've had it happen to me before.
I would scan them, but with what? I can't get any virus detectors on my laptop cause of the virus, and I also can't test it on my desktop in case the viruses come along with the USB.
And for the record, I don't really blame the virus guys. Currently, I'm blaming YouTube and all those lame-ass companies. Let's see, which from YouTube is a bigger crime: Keeping copyrighter material, or getting half of Earth's people's computer's infected, cause having to look for a different way to watch the vids? I'd say the latter one. As for the other companies that make the copyright claims, which is the bigger crime: Making money, or getting people's computers infected? I'd, again, say the latter one.
