After a long life, our hero feels less than heroic and longs to understand what he can do such that he is truly fulfilled.

So, he visits the wisest man he knows, Martridge, to ask for help in finding what ever it might be that he is looking for.

It may increase your gaming pleasure to enjoy all the menu options for each conversation, items to purchase, etc. and seek out the occasional object to examine (talk to) and hit, especially signs.

.

The size and scope of this dmod is more of a short romp than a real quest and I ask forgiveness for my grandiose nature in advance. By way of apology, I have included a walkthru.txt for those who run into difficulties.

Authors Note:

I have played nearly all the dmods on the Dink Network, and have often thought I might enjoy making one. I hope that you enjoy playing this game and I sincerely hope that this is NOT the last quest ever to be posted to the Dink Network.

A mild warning is on order though: There are some ways in which it is *not* like most dmods.

.

In making this dmod, if I have achieved even a modicum of the heights of greatness that others have in generating their dmods, it is only that I have done so by standing on the shoulders of the dmod giants who have come before me. I thank all those on the Dink Network I have borrowed from.

Release Notes:- Restored the assignment of the &shopkeeper variable in splyshbl.c and made some dialogue corrections surrounding the cave fairy victory and candles.
- Changed if "(&cave_fairy = -3)" to "if (&cave_fairy == -3)" in splyshbl.c and wpnshpbl.c.
- Expanded use() in item-brg.c to force the slaying of the cave fairy.
- Added &cfisloose logic in gardblti.c.
- Repaired the warp exit from screen 578 (the weapon shop basement) to screen 610 (the weapon shop main floor).
- Made strength potion bottle bigger in in upper left of screen 736, to be more easily seen and changed script for it to rpotion2.c .
- Expanded dialogue in sgnmfire.c to extol virtues of the shrine.
- Adjusted chest positions in screen 550 to reduce chance of getting stuck in hardness area.
- Improved chapter 4 of the book on vanquishing the fairy in mayrlibr.c to better explain a few things.

I have only completed half the D-mod so far, but I can safely say to you that it is a great epic d-mod. There are a few bugs, but slipdink will address these as soon as he can (Believe me he will).

The story line is very good.
Lots of humor.
It has a great intro.
Some neat graphics.
And a trumpet. (You'll figure this out when you play it.)

Slipdink worked for a good while and very hard on this D-mod.

PLAY IT! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!
