Lantern Flickering
I had written a 0.0 review for the flickering lantern a long time ago, based on the fact the flickering lantern looks like shoot, the static effect is much better.
Coming back to this years later, the original still looks better, although the flickering version isn't outright horrible as I remembered. The idea of a flickering lantern could work, this just isn't it. Perhaps if the lantern didn't flicker like crazy, or only flickered when you move.
The cool thing about this file is the test dmod, which is actually a pretty fun miniquest (better than most dmods on this site in the sub 4 caste) and the cool new midis that were made by Kindanue, although he does say in the readme he would appreciate people asking him before using them.

This is an improvement over the original Lantern effect. It comes as a DMOD demonstration which is cool and the DMOD even maintains the humour Dan had in his original Lantern demonstration.
Can this be improved? Sure... different sized lantern viewing area would make an interesting addition, either as a magic spell or another item. Might have to do that myself.
So nice music in the demonstration too.
Shame Kindanue never released a full DMOD, looks like it would've been good.

This is a really cool add-on! The lantern can be used in caves, haunted houses etc. I wish some graphics of Dink carrying his lantern were included, though. Another small minus is the small area being lightened up, because it would look more realistic if you could still see the edges..
This download includes several files for implementing a flickering lantern effect in a D-mod. It comes with a small tutorial D-mod so you can see what the effect of the lantern is, including some monsters you can fight and some goodies to pick up, so you can also see how that works.
There are two lantern files; this one by Kindanue, and the other one by Redink1. This file gives a more realistic touch to the lantern effect since the light of the lantern is really flickering, but the area lit by this lantern is smaller then the one created by Redink1.
Both lanterns have their advantages and it is all up to the author who wants to use a lantern effect in his D-mod, which one to use.

This is a very good add-on, because its like a normal lanter, but it flickering.! So, if you create DMOD, where is some dark caves- Download this!!! Or, of course, you can create your own lanter with unlimited bmp's, because this lantern uses 6 bmp's.
This is a REALLY cool add-on! It gives you a lantern, just like the one by redink, but this one flickers and stutters, just like in real life! It adds a lot to your d-mod, and is very helpful for all caves/dungeons etc.
