Sad Statements (Closed)
From Tal:
You may not necessarily break any of the written rules for the board, but you succeed at being a gigantic nuisance, and I think just about everyone here, save IceDomina, Ducklord, and maybe some other non-vocal Dinkers, agrees.
If people are annoyed by self-defence then that is just sad. it's also wrong and immoral to hate self0-defence. Everyone has the right to self defence.
From Tal:
I promise you that it would be in everyone's best interest, especially yours, to drop this discussion completely and let the thread return to its previous intent/peacefulness, if that can even be attained again.
In my own best interest to ket someone say something bad about me that's wrong without defending myself? Saying asomething bad that isn't true is abuse. To tolerate abuse is to sanction abuse. It is wrong to sanction abuse. It's also sad to tolerate abuse.
From Christiaan:
I think it's a good idea for DD to lay low with the posts, and just, for crying out loud, don't defend yourself like you're addicted to it.
Good idea for me to lie low? That'd tolerating abuse. See my above reply for why I think about this.
From Christiaan:
This is advice, please don't be all "Draconic Dink" about it.
That has to be one of the biggest misinterpretations of anyone I've ever encountered. That someone would misintrepret anyone that much is just sad. I feel sorry for anyone who does that. Anyway, it's not about "being me" it's about standing against inaccurate bad claims about me. it's sad when people criticise the moral act of self-defence.
From metataarasal:
1- Stop pointing out the obvious and posting (seemingly) merely for the sake of posting, even if you call it playing along the joke or something.
Firstly, I don't "post merely for the sake of posting". I post because I want to say something. Secondly, 99% of the time I post the onvious is because I'm teasing not because I think it needs to be said. it's sad that you would think I do.
From metataarasal:
2- Always defending your own posts makes you look like you think that you're never wrong, and it spoils a discussion.
Well, that's the fault of the people who think that way. Don't blame me for the way other think. Besides I was defending why I've posted so often lately not what I posted. Besides if you think about it logically defence is more likely to be done as simply that and nothing else. It's sad when people think otherwise. It's sad that they are being so blind to the simple truth.
From metataarasal:
3- You try to end threads a lot, not by officially asking for a thread to be closed, but rather by posting very serious posts in nonsense threads and the other way round.
I don't try to do that. It's sad that you would think that I do.
From metataarasal:
Also stop your objective of posting one post about your DMOD every day.
I don't do that either. Besides you won't be hearing about it for a while. I had a computer crash that lost me all my data, so I have to start again.
From metataarasal:
Summary:
You may post, but you don't have to post. It doesn't boost your stats or something. And it doesn't earn you respect either.
I know I don't have to post. And I don't care whether or not is does those things because I'm not aiming for either. I have my own respect and that's all the respect I desire. As for post rank... well, I couldn't care less. It doesn't really mean anythihng. It's simply a post count. That's about as important as a count of how many buttons your TV remote has. That you would think that of me when it isn't true is just sad.
Note: With the exception of the D-Mod being lost, I felt sad for others not myself.

As you have demonstrated in previous threads, there is no point in arguing about this.
I know that several people will likely post well-reasoned replies to this post, and I can forsee the post count for this thread easily skyrocketing. But I can't see any replies doing any good, and they'll only fuel the 'problem' several people have stated.
So, I am closing this thread.
One fact: over the past month you've posted 282 messages on the forums. Typically, the 'top' poster for a month is around 120, and rarely 150.
