I prefer StepMania. Lets you configure tons of stuff, has tons of themes available, also shows videos and picture changes in the background. A much more complete arcade experience than the Flash version.

Funny how I found this topic while visiting the StepMania forums... Then again I visit them daily.

Oh yeah I have played StepMania before, I did not like it too much becuase I had to install it on my PC, and I was very weary about it. I think one reason I removed it is becuase my antivirus I was using at the time said it was bad... I dunno... I have not touched it sence or seen the site untill you showed the link. I liked it, but I did not like having to download the extra songs, plus I was on 56k at the time when I first tried Flash Flash Revolution and did not want to spend that time downloading the extra files... at that time they was HUGE to me! So I just avoided it all together and FFR loaded quicker than downloading the Stepmania and its song/steps as well...

You need broadband if you want to install entire (high-quality) song packs, anyway. Those can be 50MB to a Gigabyte depending on how many songs there are (and if they contain videos).

StepMania is completely safe, by the way. No viruses. It's open-source and runs on Windows, Linux and Mac, and I follow development on it (as well as compile the program from the source code myself) so I know it's a fine app.

For real nice design and improved features, version 4 (still in development) is quite nice, too.
