Super Potion Cheat

Peasant Female
Purpose: Gives you ‘tons of gold, experience, strength magic, etc.’ as can be read in the enclosed file_id.diz.

Installation: You have to copy the spotion.d file to the story folder and use the editor to place a red potion on screen with the script spotion.

Use: Just pick up the potion. It will give you 100.000 attack, defense and magic, 99999 gold and raise the level to 21.

Not so good: It only works in the original Dink Smallwood. If you try this in any other D-mod, you are rocketed straight up to level 32, with 999999 experience points, and then over that, so not only the game freezes, but your computer crashes too. When using it in the original Dink Smallwood, it will raise your stats to level 21, which is absurd high, and since you can walk over the potion lots of times before it disappears, the stats will go over level 32, so you will get a game freeze and computer crash.
You have to copy the file and then use the editor to put a sprite on screen, which is not user friendly and people who only want to play D-mods and are not interested in development tools, might not know how do this – or just want something easier. The Ultimate Menu Cheat, Dink Smallwood Trainer, or Ultimate Cheat Version 2.0 is a better choice.

Overall: A cheat that can cause major bugs, and works only in the original Dink Smallwood.

Fit for: No one.

Usually I won't bother to review such a file, but a 9.9 point by someone who probably never "figure out" how to make it work is just rediculous.

So I decided to see how super this cheat was. It turned out it's buggy, unfriendly, and plain bad!

You need to use DinkEdit to literally add a potion in the map. So you do need to know how to use DinkEdit to change the map file. Most of non-author players probably won't even bother to try. If the players do know how to use DinkEdit that way, they probably could write the script themselves.

The super potion can raise Dink's stat like crazy. The potion won't disappear immediately, so you can touch it again and again and get crazy stat. The biggest problem is the added high experience. It would definitely cause the game crash just by killing anything afterwards.

I urge DN staff to delete the untruthful review posted by Dinkerboy.
