Slimes VS Dink

The DMOD is just this, over and over. From the COTPATD project.

This was a rather sad attempt actually.Dink gets told to kill slimes
and that's it.Every screen seemed pretty much like the last, give or
take a slime.
The graphics are from the original game and look fine, the music
sounded a bit like the theme from 'Bonanza'.Really annoying.
I kept waiting for something interesting to happen but it just went
on and on.
There was, however, an end-boss at least and the music finally changed
on that final screen too.Woot!
I swear my eyes glazed over at one point during the game but I was
still able to keep playing.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to hone up on their
slime-killing abilities.

My very own D-Mod.

Let's see...Graphics? nothing new. Sounds/midis? well, most of them was very wierd and stupid. Story/Plot? Kill the slimes, nothing special, right?
Well there wasen't any lockscreen bugs or hardness errors, so i raise some score.

PS: Why did i submit this D-Mod anyway? (Hide-and-seek was terrible enough)

hmm.. well.. what can I say...
I suppose a 4 for effort & an 8 for buglessness is really all I can give on the positive side.

On the negative side:
0 for originality
0 for storyline
0 for balanced gameplay
0 for lasting appeal

I started using UC "kill all enemies" after three screens of the same and that basically sums up the game.

Thís is a bad dmod. Very bad. Our good friend MiloBones mentioned that the idea of this dmod is generally pretty cool. I do not share this opinion. Matter of taste, maybe, but when you look at the dmods in this style on this site, you'll come across... The Monsterhouse: didn't work well. Dinkzilla: didn't work well. Fighterz: hmmm, well, an average dmod at best, and the idea here has been fully accomplished gameplay wise, in mu opinion. This genre simply is boring. BAD IDEA.
However, one could make a pretty decent dmod out of this that would at least score around the 6. What to think of more variety in enemies than only slimers, and, better yet, new enemies? New graphics, sounds, music, a character selection as in Fighterz, nice scenery (this dmod has 0.0), and other neat ideas?
Well, this dmod has nothing of this all. Absolutely nothing. The game is basically walk from screen to screen, killing ónly slimers, and, worst of all, without ANY scenery whatsoever. Empty, boring, repeated, screenlocked screens. Full of slimers. And on the last screen a slimer which is somewhat bigger and has more hitpoints. AN ENDBOSS!!
Wow. Great.
Put shortly, this dmod has absolutely nothing to offer. Do not download this piece of crap.

GRAPHICS 1: No scenery, let alone any new or original stuff. Virtually non-existant.
SOUND 2: 2 midis if I remember right. Bad midis, if you must know.
GAMEPLAY 2: Okay, one good thing: no bugs. Not strange if you think there ís no gameplay to have bugs in in the first place. All you do is walk around killing. Booooooring.
LASTING APPEAL 3: Well, if you like fighting, you may play it some other time just for the heck of it. But, if you do, I must say you're a total retard. For me the game lasted about 7 minutes. Or something. I think. Who cares.

TOTAL: 2.5

Trust me, a 2,5 is a high score for such a horrid dmod. And I'm not even in a good mood. At times, I can't explain myself.

This is actually an idea with a fair amount of potential. Lets see, in reverse order of importance, what went wrong:

3. Music: The boss music, taken from FFVII, was quite good. The rest of the music just didn't do it for me. The game is basically sort of arcade style (IMHO) and the music wasn't.

2. The enemies (they come in two varieties, normal and boss) were way too easy and the game was way too short, like the first level of a massive arcade style death brawl spanning twenty levels of slime-spattered destruction. And the sad thing is, with screen match, making another 19 (sufficiently difficult) levels would have been doable, even if not neccesarily worth the effort.

1. NO WRINKLES!! I mean, there are 10 million ways you could take this thing and make it interesting. Time limits, some sort of score keeping (for instance keeping track of how many times you've been hit), enemies actually changing in some way (i.e. getting more difficult) as the game progressed, having some sort of pinball style plot (i.e., beating a screen releases hostages or something)... believe me, this is an idea with potential.

But the upshot is, despite the lack of bugs, this is not worth dowloading unless you are quite bored. 5.0 for brevity, lack of bugs, and good screenlocking. A sequel might be enjoyable, or another version, in which case I shall modify my review.
