What I've done is give the lantern effect a bit more life by having it "flicker" instead of just being still like the original was.

The 3 small MIDIs in this are my own original creations, if you want to use them, I would appreciate you asking me first.

This download includes several files for implementing a flickering lantern effect in a D-mod. It comes with a small tutorial D-mod so you can see what the effect of the lantern is, including some monsters you can fight and some goodies to pick up, so you can also see how that works.

There are two lantern files; this one by Kindanue, and the other one by Redink1. This file gives a more realistic touch to the lantern effect since the light of the lantern is really flickering, but the area lit by this lantern is smaller then the one created by Redink1.

Both lanterns have their advantages and it is all up to the author who wants to use a lantern effect in his D-mod, which one to use.
