Well, thanks to some help from Microsoft and Mr. Double You See, I managed to get the Movie support working on dPlay... and after adding a movie example into the example D-Mod (hit the duck), I thought that deserved another release.

First of all, this is excellent, but there are a few minor bugs I think. First of all it takes about 6 seconds before Dink is actually minimized and the movie strats to play, ot full screen. However, if I hit it multiple times in a row, it will minimize and play a full screen video. Strange, but true.

Odd... it pops up right away for me. I guess I'll have to do a few tests and such to get around that.

I install the dang thing but it still give me "I can't find confirmation that dPlay was installed"

Did you install it in the correct directory? There isn't any good way to auto-detect it... so if you didn't install Dink in the default directory, you need to install dPlay into whatever directory you installed Dink into.

Just look in your main dink folder, and if dplay.exe and dplaym.exe are there, and it still isn't working, let me know.

I don't get the movie to play. dplay is installed, Dink minimises, but then no movie, then Dink returns.

Season change works fine

Is there a certain version of DirectX you should have - such as 9? (Which I don't)

I can play the movie by itself through windows movie player

WC said it should work with any version of DirectX, so I dunno.

I just checked. That SDK that you ripped the code out of does have 1 routine with pure DX9 code, so yeah, directx 9.

No, the problem's not DirectX 9.0, I had it installed and have the same problem.

Doesn't work for me either, I'm sad to report. Dink minimizes pretty much right away then comes back after a few seconds, but no movie.

Paul, try hitting it multiple times in a row, the third or fourth time it works for me.

The same with me: I hit the duck, dink minimizes, no movie, then dink returns.

No dice (didn't work). I'm not surprised though, I had my doubt this would work as soon as I heard he had "help from Microsoft".

What does happen is that the first time I hit it znd wait a while, it minimizes and DOES play the ovie, but not full screen and in the upper left corner of my screen.
