I was wondering, if there's anyone here who knows HTML, how do I add a poll to my website? What code do I enter, how do I customize it to my liking?

Anyone?

Just knowing HTML is not enough, seeing as polls collect data and store it somewhere. The best place to start out might be to learn PHP and SQL on www.w3schools.com.

Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice.
Or, you can make a forum on proboards, or invisionfree, where you can make polls without knowing any html/sql/php.

Why would you install an entire forum system if the only thing you want is a small poll on your website?

I guess there are some free poll services out there though, Google for "poll service" or something similar...

Man, why does everybody recommend w3schools for learning how to do stuff on the web? They teach you so much bad stuff. A lot of what they teach is obsolete, incorrect, unportable, imprecise, and just plain wrong. I cannot give you a better place to go, because I don't really look for those places, but I consider myself an expert at web technologies, and w3schools teaches you a lot of things the wrong way, things that you will later have to unlearn if you want to get serious.

Granted, it teaches you some things the wrong way, but it's still an excellent resource to start learning.

Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
But it should learn how to do it correctly right away - it's hard to unlearn bad habits

I've used W3schools, and it has helped me a lot.

I used w3schools to learn the basics of html. I think it's not bad for beginning.

I believe that Phoenix is refering to their (X)HTML lectures. They prolly doesn't follow W3C's standards.

Oh, a lot of the crap on that site does not follow proper standards.

And it's "probably do not".

Forumotion.com is probably the best if you know how to use it. Proboards is okay for people who want bland skins, but if you're good with CSS, and know how to tinker around with the images in Forumotion, you can make some kick ass skins. ^^
