Ducklord has created an awesome patch for Cast Awakening Part 1: Initiation v1.0.3. It fixes a number of bugs, everything from invincible enemies to music not playing correctly. Thanks, Ducklord!

invincible enemies

Yeah, about that... Although I fixed the alarm bug, it seems there are at least two more bugs (a talk-related issue and a Dink Engine flaw) that can make Cast soldiers invincible. Fortunately, there's a workaround in v1.0.3 should the bug occur - when you've defeated the killable enemies, try leaving and re-entering the screen, and the invincible enemies should become killable. The good news is that this means that you'll be able to trigger Ending 4 even if the bug occurs. The bad news is that if the bug does occur, every Cast member will see you right away.

I'll see if I can fix this, but I hope to finish my walkthrough for Initiation first (who knows... maybe I'll find some more bugs while replaying, although I doubt it).

Just wanted to thank all involved for the re-release of this marvelous DMOD. I'm
an old geezer who just loves to play these things, and I spent approximately 8
hours getting first to ending one - and then to ending four. How do I get to the
other two endings?

That's okay, I'll figure it out I'm sure. I WOULD like to know how to unlock the
barrier with the "One, two, three, four, five,, and six codes though. That one
STILL has me bugged.

At any rate, this dmod is - BY FAR - the best one I've played so far.
Thanks very much once again from a happy old geezer.

Hi there Brain Dead: From one "Ol Geezer" (there is only one other on this board that knows my true age) to another, I have to agree with you, this re-release is absolutely awesome. Its like a well received fix for Zeldaphiles, & Dink Junkies.

Wow You have 8 hours already? Hmmm Maybe its just my Altzheimer Riddled Brain, But I cant get out of the Prison Mine area. I found the bombs, blew up the rocks north of the Mine Super, but can't for the life of me figure a way to get to the Boncas to earn some gold to get a mine axe. The answer is probably right in front of me, and I just haven't seen it with my good eye yet.

Rent an axe for free and start bashing normal rocks until they disappear. Actually there are usually lots of ways to get through a level, but you get the idea. You can even get out of Level 7 via an alternate exit that doesn't involve paying for the axe or giving it up.
