Re: Privacy policy, terms of service, Verisign, etc.
Hey, maybe I am overreacting, but why not implementing something like that. You know, privacy policy for knowing what info is logged, what is not logged, etc.
Terms of service, mmh, don't know what are these for.
Etc.
So, that could at least minimize (I believe) these strange events that appear time to time (like that one of a guy killed by a car accident, this last tri-account, and mmh I don't remember any other).
Oh, I was forgeting. I have seen that some communities have some special rules, or requirements, that people registering an account must be 13 or older (That is a legal requirement or not? Or is for asking their parent authorization?. Don't know).
Well, that is. You guys and girls post your opinion here, please.
As of me, I believe that a site that is transparent and regulated is always better, of course.

I dunno. I'm an odd duck, but I don't mind the drama that happens here on occasion. It's also unlikely that anything would ever change even if we did have a more overt code of conduct. You need more than rules, you need willingness to follow those same rules.
The best thing to figure is that everything that could be logged about you at the DN is logged. Actually, somewhere, it probably is.

I don't like the 13 or older rule thing. That's why I don't go on many forums. I'm only 12!
Hmm... in that case, maybe we should have that merely to help control the level of spam...

What!? Are you saying that I'm the main reason for al the spam lately!?
You know, if you think about its more likely that someone older would spam. Maybe there should be a limit of 13 and under.

Most users wants to be sure that TDN is not a part of a conspiracy group selling our information to the CIA.
I think we're fine how we are. No 13 or over rule. We don't get too much spam. But recently we have been getting quite a bit.
"I am 13 or younger and my parents approve" usually is an option too, anyway.

Well these guys of CIA know everything. It is awesome!
I believe if CIA required Redink to send them specific information, he could not deny it, even gratis. It is not against law to deny CIA or police requirements of information?
It is more likely to be Redink selling e-mail addresses or geographic locations to Google (Now that he has Ads by Google
). Just joking.

Yeah. But unless you put in your parents email address and your parent actually does approve then it doesn't work.

It works, they can't check who you are or how old you are, anyway. But it becomes your own responsibility.
I never get this "be 13 or older" issue, anyway... Do they want to seperate spammers from other forumgoers or something?

I've seen this on some phpBB and Invision Power Board applications.
The only forums I go on are this one and this Jedi Academy clan forum.
Well, Redink has the last word, but he is not here. Where are you, Redink?

Just thinking people can just say there 13 or older so what's the point in putting that rule into place
You justexpect people to be honest. And you can kinda tell if someones's under 13. Can anyone tell I'm under 13?
Yes but i can't tell that your 13 or under because you have told me but
some people are more mature then others

Nevermind the under thirteen rule. I sent my pants to the cleaners and they returned the wrong ones. What is that lawyer's name that sues for millions over such blatant incompetence?
You know, I just drop the pants off at value village, and then grab them again when they pull them out. It's a little cheaper than the dry cleaners.

More than 10 posts a day over the past month would seem to suggest that yes, you are.

Actually, I've been keeping my spamming numbers down lately.
