ive followed the guy into the unlit cave after the dragon destroyed the village. i've been all over this place how do you get out/through?
Don't follow Fabian or Alessa yet.
Get away from the village then find those stone marks in the screen where was flames. And where was the first purple knight. There's stairs to Temple of the Ancients.

Actually, he/she may already have been to the Temple of the Ancients before the dragon destroyed the village (scroll quests ya know).
Nonetheless, this isn't gonna help him/her get through the cave. What you've got to do in the cave is search each level carefully for hole/stairs. Eventually you'll find a savebot in the lowest level, then go north and meet the Scarab Man.
