alright so i beat this game five, maybe even six times, but i still cant find any significance in that body that looks like you in the darklands that you pick up, is it just decoration, or what?

I think it's just to scare you. I mean you see yourself dead and then the body disapeares. And I don't think you pick it up. It might also be something that would show the possible future.

And what's with that snow castle!

It's a secret. You can go inside if you find it. There are some burnable trees on the 'Edge of the World' where you fight the stone giants. They are located on a screen westmost part where the forest is the barrier blocking your path. IIRC there is also an entrance to a cave on that screen.

Oh yeah.. one more thing. There are lots of monsters and screenlocks in there

Yeah, but you find there a nice story about your ancestors.
