Any one heard of Aibohphobia?
Aibohphobia: the irrational fear of palindromes.
Cool right?
Cool right?
Well, considering that it's not a natural latin or greet prefix, I'd have to vote no. It's not.
Well, it *is* a palindrome, though, you must admit. And that's the "cool" part. Just like the word for fear of long words is itself a long word.
True, but this sounds more like the irrational fear for robot pet dogs.
But it was custom made to be such. It's like calling palindromes, emordnilapalindrome, because the word itself is a palindrome.
Actually, the fear of long words, "hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia" is really just sesquippedaliophobia. People just added the hippopotomonstro-to truly make it the fear of long words. So that one isnt that cool.
So it's "sesquippedaliophobia"- the fear of long words.
So it's "sesquippedaliophobia"- the fear of long words.
but it's about half the length.
How many people actually knew what a pallendrome was before this?

It's not a pallendrome, it's a palindrome.
I know this word for about 10 years. There was a palindrome program with "Windows 3.11 for kids", which I read when I was 8 or 9 years old.

*raises hand*
I even have known for a long time that the longest palindrome word in the Norwegian language is "regninger", which means "bills". The kind you pay, like rent, electricity, etc.
<irony>Oh, and this must be rather interesting for y'all...</irony>
Additionally, I know some mathematical palindromes. My favorite is
<number's value times number> * <number's value times number> / <number> * <number>, e.g.
333 * 333 / 3 * 3 = 12321 or
55555 * 55555 / 5 * 5 = 123454321 and so on.
To get even more fancy, one can write that as
333² / (1 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 1) which is the same, but looks more impressive, as the answer is "the same as" the dividend.

I've never heard of 'aibohphobia' but, until the other day,
I had also never heard of 'puppetphobia'.
I had also never heard of 'puppetphobia'.
I bet my beard there are people who get paid for making up stupid new phobias. Does a phobia of nonexistant phobias exist yet?
It's not a pallendrome, it's a palindrome.
Whatever, and you should have said. "It's not pallendrome. it's palindrome"
And what's puppetphobia? Fear of puppets?
And if it were real, shouldn't it be puppetOphobia.

Not necessarily, you have to remember that the -phobia words have their origin in Greek language and the -o- is a common vowel to combine two words in one word (from what I know at least, take a look at the Phobia List for example, you'll see -ophobia often).
Edit: it seems fear of puppets is Pupaphobia

Whats the biggest and easiest palindrome you can think of?

If that's your biggest, then mine is bigger SimonK-ish
(just add a number to the front and the end of the palindrome and you have a bigger one.. and continue this ad infinitum)
