Simple program for music listening
I'm looking for a really simple program to listen to music. All I need is a program that supports the basic audio files like mp3s, midis and waves and has a playlist. The simpler, smaller and faster the better.
I used winamp it was pretty good, you could choose from a lot of skins to fit your desktop and a lot of other features... But it is small and has a mini feature that makes it even smaller anyway... www.winamp.com
But Winamp 5 has the spiffy media library.
I'm looking for a really simple program to listen to music.
does anyone use freaking windows media player anymore? like the one that comes with windows 98, it plays music fine for me.
Yes, and I'm not going to switch if only for the fact that it would probably take too long to catalogue it on another media player.
Eh, Winamp 5 works well enough for me. I don't use any of the "new-fangled" skins though; I use the 2.x skin. Simple and sleek.
Um.. what?
"It works fine"
"That's why people take Microsoft to court"
"It works fine"
"That's why people take Microsoft to court"
No. More like this:
"does anyone use freaking windows media player anymore?"
"No, and that's why people take Microsoft to court."
"does anyone use freaking windows media player anymore?"
"No, and that's why people take Microsoft to court."
There's this little thing I like to call paraphrasing...
Now then, please make sense of what you posted.
Now then, please make sense of what you posted.
Um, you're not making any sense. Have you not heard the news? I've taken the liberty of including some links for you:
Microsoft loses crucial EU ruling
Microsoft preps WMP-less Windows
EU balks at Windows Reduced Edition
EU upholds penalties against Microsoft
There. Or is that not good enough for you? Not enough information to support my post? How about this google link?
If that's not good enough for you, how about I search google some more and pull off more links? Surely that'll help sway your decision that my post didn't make sense?

It makes more sense now (and honestly, I wasn't aware of that news; I haven't been keeping up with things lately), but I hope that you don't refuse to admit that the post was open to interpretation.
"does anyone use freaking windows media player anymore? like the one that comes with windows 98, it plays music fine for me."
"No, and that's why people take Microsoft to court." (That was taken off the top of my head as opposed to being directly copied; if it's not exactly what you said, then I'm so dang sorry, please forgive me for my misdeeds.)
How could we have interpreted this vague sentence? Let's see:
1. People take Microsoft to court because people use Windows Media Player.
2. People take Microsoft to court because WMP comes with Windows.
3. People take Microsoft to court because WMP "plays music fine."
Now, keeping the news in mind, the correct choice would clearly be #2.. but I (and many others, I imagine) haven't been keeping up with something that barely even pertains to our country (you and I making the "our," as you were an American the last time I checked). Also, the way in which you replied made it seem as though the entirety of your post was meant to answer that question. Let me explain that:
1. Person asks yes/no question.
2. Other Person gives yes/no answer. If they seek to clarify, they may say, "Yes/No, because...," "Yes/No, but...," "Yes/No, and...," and so on.
"does anyone use freaking windows media player anymore?"
"No, and that's why people take Microsoft to court."
Perhaps a better way to have phrased your reply would be: "No, noone uses it anymore. Also, regarding it being included with Windows, people have taken Microsoft to court over that." And hey, if your Overpowering Intellect can find a way to further improve upon that, then feel free to adjust it appropriately.
Now then, do you understand why I claimed that you did not make sense, and do you now see how I make sense?

Ahh, now I see what you mean. It's just you have to understand that when you post something like

I honestly have no idea what you mean. I guess we're both guilty of the lack-of-clarity crime?
