map
Jedisecret and I are makin`a D-Mod parody of "The legend of zelda - the ocorina of time". But a problem came.. We need a larger map
Is there a way to enlarge the map?

Either use two map files or perhaps the new engine will support more map squares

is there a way to change map file in the game. we make inside houses and such on map two and the land and such on map 1?
That's not gonna work; you'll just have to split the adventure in two at some point.
argh!! this will ruin the whole game since we need everything in one map file
Well we will wait for windmere so lets hope it will support 2000 squares or so

How about first a D-Mod with 200 squares? :')
No we are going to have everything that is on Zelda game, but not so detailed and such!. but every level places to go and so on!
Mmmmkay, if you two think it's worth the effort, go ahead

Glenn thinks it's worth the effort, I'm just with him so he say ok to peace again
And Glenn, seriusly, I don't have time to map 2000 screens
And I think my Password system will work good, then people can even skip the parts they think are boring
And if ya can't wait until the DMOD are realesed ( I'm sure you can though
) Here's some info as it is now (my idea, Glenn don't know about this yet so it might be changed):
Title: Zelda Ocalina of Taxes...
Story: Dink must save "Thyrule?" from the evil taxman "Cannoncork?". To do that he must have courage and the Ocalina of Taxes... He also gets help from the seven "Slayers?". We ride the horse "Step_on_a?".... And lot's more

Don't know if this will help, but what about using visions ?
Like for the inside of the houses, you could maybe use the same screen lots of times, but change the vision based on from which screen people entered the house ?
That may save some map space.

The problem then lies with sprites: you're limited to 99 sprites per screen in the map.
You could always create a script with a bunch of create_sprite lines for the objects in the room, and tie that to one screen... but it seems like far too much work.
The best solution would be to cut back the scale *tremendously*, and come to grips with the fact that creating a D-Mod that takes up more than 768 screens is foolhardy. Would you watch a movie that was over 15 hours long?

Heu Jedi slow down a litle bit will ya? That story is bad ok. Why can`t we have something that will be just like zelda. Please! EDIT. btw does windmere support more tiles??
