What I am saying it is doesn't cost much, if nothign at all to have your own domain name with a custom e-mail address which DOESN'T MONITOR YOUR CRAP.

You do know that (nearly) all e-mail is sent plain-text, so anyone who really wanted to look at your e-mail will find a way to do so, right?

As for Google reading your mail... spam filters do the same dang thing, as do virus filters. The only difference is google puts text ads on the page. Wooo. Amazing.

Ok, google openly admits that they record the contents of e-mail and databse them so that they can see how many people receive what. They also admit that when you delete an e-mail, it's not acctually deleted but archived.

Spam filters and virus scanners do not do the same dang thing. Google archives the contents of your message so that, even 5 years from now, they will have access to your e-mail at the click of a [few] buttons; filters and scanners do not.

Well, if your e-mail is so mission-critical or important that it needs to be deleted promptly after it is read, and it can't be read by others, why don't you, oh I don't know, *encrypt* it? Hell, if anyone want's to read what I wrote 5 years back, go right ahead, waste your time.

Second, I can't read other peoples e-mails without them knowning and If I do, it's going to because I got an e-mail from the host saying it's being abused and I will probably block your access during my investigation. I agree with Chrispy. If your E-Mail is so secret that no one must see it, why are you using E-Mail at all? And all you would see if you read my E-Mail for the last 5 Years is a bunch of GameSpy newsletters
