I finally know who is the other Ducklord, my alter ego (well, he's not really my alter ego, but he calls himself the lord of the ducks, too, so) ! So far I only knew he was using AOL and AIM ( though I've never met him actually ), but now I think I've found something interesting...

Here.

PS : what is that scientology stuff?

Scientology is a religion founded by a science fiction author (who I can't remember the name of at the moment), and they believe that billions of years ago an alien race took some alien prisoners to a volcano on earth, threw them inside, and said prisoners died. However, there were an awful lot of these prisoners (billions, I think), and their souls lived on. These souls are considered 'body thetans', and attach themselves to human beings, limiting human potential. Advanced scholars in scientology who have driven the body thetans out of their body can (supposedly) fly, kill people by thought alone, and so on. Quite a few (*coughdumbasscough*) celebrities are Scientologists, including Tom Cruise and that one guy who plays Chef on South Park.

If you think that's one of el ink o' red's patented odd jokes, you're sorely mistaken. That is a pretty good summary of Scientology, at least what I can recall from memory.

Isaac Hayes is the guy who played chef. He might actually be more famous for singing(and composing? I'm not quite sure) the theme for "Shaft". He almost stopped doing South Park when they made fun of Scientology during a parody of Gladiator. (It was shown on mtv movie awards and I'm sure you'll be able to download it if you haven't seen it.)

You know, I'd always heard of Scientology and knew some celebrities believed in it, but I never knew what it was really all about. I found your post very informative. That's quite the, uh, interesting religion.

Wow, sounds matrix-like... not that I believe anything of it, but it's quite interesting

If anyone wants more information on Scientology (albeit from a negative perspective), check out xenu.net.

Also, it seems I got a couple details wrong. The 'prisoners' were actually people rounded up because the universe was overpopulated. While I think they were still thrown in volcanoes (I didn't see that mentioned in my brief look again), they were primarily killed using hydrogen bombs.

Also, Scientologists aren't informed of this part of their religion until they've invested years of their lives and a huge chunk of their money into the church... so while it wouldn't make any sense to anyone walking down the street, once you've invested so much of yourself into something you tend to believe it a bit better.

Why do people believe in UFOs, Magic Crystals, telepathy, ghosts, demons, Bob Barker, time travelers, or giant banana people? I dunno.
