linear?
Could someone explain "linear" or "non-linear". People use it to describe dmods but I don't really grasp that expression.

It is a term often used to explain gameplay and plot. For instance, Final Fantasy X was a linear game, you went from point A to point B only one way, a straight line. Nonlinear gameplay often has different ways of reaching the end, sometimes having different endings entirely. If a game is nonlinear, it has several ways of accomplishing goals. A good example of this type of game is Deus Ex. I love that game to death.
Thank you Safmoor. Very clear and understandable.
What kind of game is Deus Ex?

Deus Ex is an exellent game, mixing the best of two generes: Rpg an First Person Shooter
the best part about deus-ex iare the rats and the cleaning units

Meh, I didn't think Deus EX was up to that much to be honest. Was good for a while, but the shooting wasn't shooty enough, and the RPG elements (while nicely done, and pretty cool) just weren't hardcore enough.
Now Metal Slug, THAT's a shooting game!

Silly rabit, that's why it was a blend of the two genres. And it's greatness did lay in the non-linearity.
And Metal Slug is a platform game!

Nah, I would disagree. It was a blend of the two genres, fine, but I felt that greatness did not come of this, and it just didn't click with me.
And yeah, Metal Slug is a platform game, but it's very shooty..and bloody, and fun!

Our own SabreTrout. The future fishy hit-man. Will he beat people endlessly with dead fish? Serve them hot sushi? nah! noo. not bloody enough.
