After messing around with the Worst Registrar In The World for a few months, dinksmallwood.net has been sold to a petty domain name harvester, at least that's what I gather from WHOIS.

So now go (and link) to dinksmallwood.org for all your Dinky needs. It might take awhile for your ISP's DNS to update their records, so it may not work for you for a few days.

Um.. when I try, I get this:

WhoIs Information For: http://www.dinksmallwood.net/

BEGIN WHOIS RECORD -------

Whois Server Version 1.3
Domain names in the .com and .net domains can now be registered
with many different competing registrars. Go to http://www.internic.net
for detailed information.
No match for domain "HTTP://WWW.DINKSMALLWOOD.NET/".
>>> Last update of whois database: Thu, 11 Sep 2003 06:19:44 EDT <<<

and that says it's not there...

Funny, it still shows it taken for me.

Edit: oh, when you do a whois lookup, you don't include the 'http://www.' part, silly wabbit.

Is this why when I click on a link to dink smallwood I go to weird sites? Then I can also run a search for ds and the results will show all kinds of replies about ds, the game, but when I click on one of the game replies, half the time I go to some crazy thing.

I suggest using GoDaddy (http://godaddy.com), they have .com's for $8.95US a year. You do need to have the address of this site's nameserver, though.
