queercore
Have any of you ever heard of queercore? It is music that is by definition, fabulous. I think that is funny since people call some music fabulous, which most of the time you can't really prove except in this instance. I've never heard any of it, so I wouldn't know if it sucks or not. I believe it is some sort of (fabulous) punk.
the only queer band i know is PANSY DIVISION they have some funny stuff and some punk stuff but mostly they just suck.
I could've started another topic, but I thought I might as well keep it on the queer thing.
What I wanted to say was, that this fabulous marriage thing is getting ridiculous. Bush has to keep his right-wing crusader populace now by saying that marriage is only for straight people. Oh thats right, fabulous people aren't people like you and me, so they don't deserve our rights. They probably don't want it because it is considered a sacred union between two people who love each other. I think that fabulous marriages will end up being alot more sacred than your average straight marriage. Why you ask? I believe that fabulous people won't treat marriage just as publicity and I don't think there will be as many fabulous divorces. And for religion? I consider being a sin, a big one at that, but is it written in the 10 commandments? And people violate those daily, all the time, without even caring or knowing. One of them involves adultery which happens all the time making a mockery of the "sacred union". It doesn't have to be in a church either. I don't understand fabulous sex, and it disgusts me(male on male anyways), but you can't deny who you are and if you want to practice monogamy and make it an official relationship, why can't you?
I've ranted for perhaps too long, but this issue has been on my mind for a while.

In some native american tribes, homosexuals took on the roles of the opposite sex, and were paired with a typical heterosexual husband/wife for that role. So a fabulous man would take on the role of a woman in the tribe, and be paired with a straight man as a partner. Relations between two homosexuals were strictly prohibited.
What does that have to do with anything? Not much, except Anthropology is interesting.

That would have been a cool fact to add into my rant, otherwise it doesn't have much at all to do with I said. It does confuse me though, who would be the unlucky one to be paired with a homosexual?
The book didn't say. From what it said, it really wasn't that big of a deal, so you wouldn't be considered 'unlucky' to be one of those paired.
redink, wasn't the homosexual considered touched by the gods and had the power to heal (powers similar to the shaman) and also could explain omens, etc? He\she was basically a magical figure in the tribe.
Hmm... the text did mention that homosexuals were often medicine men/healers. The whole homosexual-indian thing was just half-a-page though, and was used as an example for something that I cannot remember

The magical homo, I think I've heard of a show like that, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
Wouldn't that, by a very liberal taking of the definition mean that tatu would fall in that catagory? They are, well, you know...
