"You cannot reply to a deleted message;"

Why so? it's pretty dang stupid. People just post a new topic as a reply to a deleted message, or at least that's what I'll do...

That's why I say, remove that feature, or remove "invalidated messages" permanently..It's just stupid to handle them in the current way.

And BTW, create a complaint forum. It'd be much easier to see which posts to skip.

Deleted messages are usually crap and don't deserve replies. Topics created just to reply to a deleted message are kinda lame too and we'll probably delete them also.

Yes you are right, creating a topic just to reply to a deleted message is kinda lame ...
but I couldn't care less and I will keep on doing so untill it is possible to reply to deleted topics.
I don't mind if you delete those "reply topics" too, if that's the way you want to solve things : fine with me.

Not true. They're usually just offensive, someone's "by-passing the swear-fliter", or something similar. Besides, it's fun yelling at those fools.

Why not send a private message to the deleted poster if you want to add something to the deleted item. This forum is for people to enjoy and exchange ideas, not to carry on a useless flame war. You don't live next door and have to interact with those you can't stand. Ignore them. You'll be happier.

Thank you for the intellectual piece.

Tal, is your post directed at me? I'm not sure if you are ticked off or sincere. If you're mad, I don't know what I did but I'll try not to do it again. If it's not for me, well, opps.
Btw, how Does a person tell if a message is directed at him?

I was entirely sincere; sorry about that.

If you view the board in flat-nested mode, then it's generally easy to tell when a message is directed towards you.

Huh? Remember I'm the computer-wordese deprived.

Click the big "Preferences" button under the logo at the top, and select "flat" as the first option and "nested" as the second, and then look at the board again and see if you like how that looks. You can also view it in Threaded mode, which makes it very easy to see who is replying to who, but you also don't get threads with new posts bumped to the top of the forum... Flat Nested combines the best of both worlds, I think.

Sorry.

I have it set up in board preferences to index: flat and messages: nested. It's easy to tell who's replying to what that way.

...aww, beat to the punch, as usual.

It doesn't matter if you got beat. You're both terrific. And yeah, now I can tell. Much better.
Thanks bunches.
