The Dink Network

Hi everyone, It's been about five or six years since I was last here.

Has much changed? how many people have gone? how many people are still here?

Just curious as to how the dink community is going in general. Cheers.

Pretty much the biggest change to happen in that time was redinks gender. The entire community has been very supportive of his life decision.

I would argue that being active here at all is an even bigger change.

Well I joined the network somewhat recently (in Dink terms). Cocomonkey made a return and played and did a write up on each and every DMOD, along with making a couple of his own. Redink made a return with a new DMOD. Several great DMODs have been released by various authors in general. Many other things.

I joined around a year ago

I demonstrated my mastery of the arcane arts and conquered the Dink Network for several years. I dethroned the false king, redink1 and began an age of perfect bliss.

Even after my mortal host was destroyed, my eternal spirit lived on and chose another host to exist in. During all this, my power was so advanced that it couldn't be contained in any sort of mortal body I chose, so it split into various other ones in an attempt to balance it out.

Then when my new body was destroyed, I sacrificed all my other ones to regain the pieces of my soul they contained and existed as a ghost for a while.

This form you now see is perfected. I am now able to compress my own power so as to not have several hosts again, and I took the extra step and switched with another dinker to fool the laws of the arcane. No universal power can even detect this power anymore as it's hidden and in the form of an unsuspecting person.

But once I see an opportunity, I swear to the 12 GODS OF MADNESS THAT I WILL UNLEASH MY UNBRIDLED FURY AND DESTROY YOU ALL! I SWEAR IT! YOU CANNOT HOPE TO DEFEAT MY MIGHT. I AM ALL. I AM NONE.

Being gone for the past five years means you missed the Great Flame War Age of Doom, from which we are still recovering from.

Seriously speaking though, D-Mod making and forum activity have decreased quite a bit in the last few years. But neither are dead. And reviews are quite scarce these days, too. In other words, if you feel like playing any of the newer D-Mods you might've missed and writing reviews for them, go ahead. Many authors would appreciate it.

Although I'm sure I've seen flood around a few times before.

It's pretty easy to find. Just turn on deleted messages and go like a page or two into the board.

No, screw it. Just go back to like mid 2009 or whatever and go forward.

Scratcher are you the one that sorts through them? Good lord man, what a job.

What changed? People left, people joined (like me), new D-Mods got released (like Historical Hero 2, Malachi the Jerk), even a few old Dmod-s were updated (Mayhem, CA Part 1: Initiation ...). Many members active in 2009 are still around, but post rarely. The news about the death of Duckie, an old timer. As thenewguy mentioned, CocoMonkey started and finished his COTPATD project - I recommend you to read it, it's enjoyable.
