Quest for Dorinthia III - Nymera's Quest
Thought I'd post up a demo to QFD III that I've been working on. I've hit some story roadblocks but figured I'd post up what I have in case some want to see the direction I want to go, or are bored and want to play something new. There are just a couple of working quests and some decent cut scenes to set the stage. Would love your thoughts - story ideas, criticisms, whatever you want to share.

QFD III - Demo
Hey Bill! As you know I very much enjoyed the other QFD games and I'm superglad to see you back working on it. Had I not been in so lowspirited lately I would have playtested this for you. Hope you end up finishing it!^^
I worked on this for about a month right after I finished QFD SE back in 2012. Picked it up a few weeks ago and added a few more things but wanted to get feedback before I proceeded.
I wish you the best Kyle, and also you Bsitko with QFD III, the first one's special edition was easily my favorite.
Thanks thenewguy. Download a copy of the demo and let me know what you think!
Ive just played the demo about 2 hours ago and It looks fairly nice
What inspired you to do a third one?

Honestly, Punisher, I couldn't tell you. I'm still on the fence about finishing it. There are a ton of reasons for that but mainly, interest.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much interest in dmods. Nothing sadder than seeing a dmod thread only getting one or two replies in the span of several days... Of course there are people who play and don't comment (the majority of players even), but the lack of comments still translates to a rather pitiful number of players overall.
I myself aren't helping- I haven't played any of the recent dmods for more than a few minutes each, and probably won't, even if I keep intending to. (too many other priorities)
~10 players for a romp, 10~30 playes for a quest, 30~70 players for an epic. Something like that maybe? No way to *really* tell, without knowing how many times each dmod gets downloaded.

I'm just not big on demos.
Agree with you, Scratcher, on all counts. Look, lets be honest. Making DMOD's is fun BUT it's a crap ton of work. You don't make a DMOD for yourself but for others to enjoy. If no one shows any signs of enjoying one, what's the point? It's a sad state for Dink, I think.
I'm not a huge fan of demos either but it's better than nothing!
I did enjoy the other QfD games, so there's a good chance I will play this. But it probably won't happen for a little while.

I'm busy scratcher! but it looks great!
Bill, I'll play your demo and get back to you soon.
OK, I played it. I had a good time. I got a kick out of the unusual intro. I had a good laugh at Dink's nonplussed reactions to the townsfolk's creepy comments, and Martridge's cameo. Beating up the super-tough pillbugs in the first section was fun if ultimately pointless. When you reduce Dink's stats and reset his level to 1, though, make sure to have a draw_status() there. Otherwise, the level still displays as whatever you'd gotten to (6 for me) until you reset the status yourself, say, by arming a weapon.
The other bug I noticed was that if you try to enter the tavern before finishing your chores, you can walk behind the door.
Anyway, seems like a promising start to me. I would definitely play your DMOD.

I didn't notice this, sorry! I will play it this week and write another comment after finishing it.. sounds promising!
