Just a question, how many d-mods have you played? Have you only tried the ones from Redink, Sabre and Skull so far? There's still quite a few other good d-mods out there that you could dive into. Who knows, they might inspire you to work on your own d-mod^^
1.The Wizard guy near the end(HH1)
Honestly if you ask me, that boss battle sucks! I wish I would've made it so much better. HH2 has bosses which are somewhat unique, but still nowhere near good enough to be on the top 10 list, let alone the top of it.

Scarab man sucks if you reach him and find you're too weak to kill him. I've yet to finish that D-mod because I'm too hurt too leave and too weak to win.

Well what the hell do you suggest then.

Too weak to kill him WHAT?!
Too weak to kill him WHAT?!
Dink is not strong enough to kill him. Simple as that. It's entirely possible, and considering how far it is back out of that place, it's dang near impossible to escape as well.
No its very possible and somewhat easy
The Boss battle in The Blacksmith's Trail is pretty rad.
No one likes an easy boss.
Some are incredibly tough; Dink dies over and over and over again. But he gets up and perseveres because the boss IS beatable.
Then when he wins (why am I talking in the 3rd person? It's me who is Dink!)it's such a relief.
Remember in the orig Dink, the uncle who beats up on his wife. Dink has to kill him. I think he was the toughest battle that happened way before Seth appeared. And Seth was tough.
FIAT is probably the toughest I've encountered because of the switching between magics and swords to kill. I wasn't lucky enough to get the Ultimate Weapon, a source of despair because I got the other swords but they didn't get recognised by the swordmaker.
Sorry, no list. I've forgotten most of the bosses and to match them up with a game is a bit difficult.
It's all subjective anyway.

Yah I kind of like a boss that doesn't just die in one hit either I'd like it to be able to attack me after I've thrown say ten hits unless it's a instakill boss. Also your uncle is hard to beat to, I hit him through the wall, and Pred you should put Seth on the top of the list.

Wow. What kind of an reply is that? Don't be rude punisher.. try making a new thread, post the dmods you've tried, and ask nicely for recommendations... Maybe you'll find something you love! And don't swear at people who are just asking polite questions if you ever want to be taken seriously.

Well, you could always try other people's Dmods.

You should try Stone of Balance or Pilgrims quest.
He'll never play those because (at least SoB) has pixelated nudity. Which reminds me, I still need to replay Pilgrim's Quest.
so he can't ignore them, and which one came first, PQ or SoB?
1. The boss with the wall and the spikers in 3 amulets.
2. Final boss in I, Kara Gu.
3. The stone giant (or was it a slayer? anyway, the guy with the key) in Lyna's story.
IME Scarab man isn't too hard. If you go to him as the final boss, he's sort of hard, but I stacked up on defense, so the small pillbugs don't hurt me. Then he's ok.
If you first take out Jamal, he's a piece of cake (because you must have been way stronger for that than you need to be for him). I think he's stronger if you do that, but not so much that he's a problem.

You know you could just look the answer up yourself, right?
The trilogy is Stone of Balance, Pilgrim's Quest, Necromancer, in that order.
The latter will be released tomorrow.

I made such an epic boss tonight. I haven't tested it yet because I want to sleep and it's like 2:30 am right now. But when I do and fix all the bugs up- because there always are bugs- it's going to be awesome. That reminds me. I should update my hype thread.
You should try Stone of Balance or Pilgrims quest.
Yes ive tried them and completed Stone of Balance and i didnt like them.
Redink1 and Sabre were better dmodders then SK

Have you played Friends Beyond 3? If not, you should try it. I loved it first time playing. Yeah, looking back, the map is a bit bland and boring (especially since there are two of them), but I think it is majorly underrated when it comes to the big D-Mods. Despite the map being boring, it is HUGE, it has a "sandbox" style of doing things in the order that you wish, interesting storyline, scripting ideas, characters and otherwise awesome elements. You should really try it out, if you haven't.
I think somebody should contact Wesley and ask if he's okay with someone else editing FB3's maps into a little bit more detailed ones. I think that would raise the D-Mod's popularity a lot, and make it one of the most flawless ones ever.

I recommend Lyna's Story, fall of Tahmar and I Kara Gu! Those are D-Mods I remember loving when I played them.
Wait... Wasn't Wesley working on a FB1 remake not so long ago?!
Yes I have played FB3 ive passed it twice.
I agree with iplaydink, you should play lyna's story, and I should get back to it soon.
I did that also
Infact at one point all most tried nearly all at one point most of them crap or mediocre.
Sabre Simonk and Skull are the best.

Sabre Simonk and Skull are the best.
If you tried all dmods, how far did you even go, and not all dmods are the best and some are guaranteed to be **** like abc, no offense.
Most of them i passed.
I find that hard to believe or you have a lot of time on your hands, and yet you still think most of them were bad or "decent"
Go to files, choose D-mods, sort by score and play the highest rated D-mods.
It works, trust me.
It works, trust me.
remember Quiz, he doesn't listen to others except himself so you should say don't go there.
From what I remember, Lyna's Story didn't impress me that much. I always found the D-Mod to be overpraised. Sure, it had some neat scripting things, but if I remember correctly, the D-Mod lacked majorly in other areas. I remember playing it, find it okay and then a few years later be astonished at the score it had received.
Maybe I should play it again someday. The last time I played it was over ten years ago, so my opinion would probably be very different now.

you did grow up and maybe now you can see the splendifious value of fun in it.
Maybe. But then again, my opinions on D-Mods have rarely changed with age. Most of what I thought back then, I still think of them. Only thing that changed is that nowadays I see the effort that went into them a lot more clearly.
Well then think about all the effort they took to make a dmod for your entertainment and then rate it accordingly.

I really liked the entire series, but FB3 has quite a lot of bugs, which is more annoying to me than missing map details. For example, you can visit a girl in a dungeon and do a quest to save her, but if you go back there you get the quest again. Not sure if you can save here again, too; I think not, because the enemy is already dead. And you can't continue either, because restarting the quest locked the next path again.
So if someone will work on it, I'd say fix all the bugs. If you get herb boots, the map isn't so big.

If somewhere were to fix the bugs too, they'd need to have played the game enough to know about the bugs.
If these bugs were fixed I may play the FB series. Might be interesting.
FB3 had probaly the best soundtrack of any D-mod.
No I'd vote the best soundtrack is the goblin theme, mabye we can open a topic about this.
Goblin theme is absolutely great. It's my favorite track from the original game too. Epic, satisfying, badass, everything it needs to be. I will be making new music for my DMOD, but some tracks will be reused from the original Dink. I think you can guess what one of them will be. >=)
Goblin theme?
Is that the one where you start to fight the Goblin Boss?
If so Yeah thats pretty good escpically the start.

It's the one that plays when Mog comes out of his hut and you fight him.
