Digital Evolution
Well as some of you know I started SPIKE a while back, and la dee da da. That's how life was. However I've kinda screwed big time with SPIKE yet I'd still love to use those gorgeous graphics our friend Simon did. and so I'm going to start this rather ambitious project. Digital Evolution. I'm not going to say anything coz it probably won't happen anyway (Knowing me) but hell...
But I thought was "SPIKE" was going to be the greatest d-mod of all time, and rock the very foundations of the network? Maybe that was "A Knights Tale 2" though...
Well, good luck on your new d-mod, but I still think you should set your sights a little liwer for now and release some sort of a d-mod, so you can get a bit of feedback on your style. But that's just me.

Just thought I'd say this Jamie...why do something so ambitious?? You could (I'm sure) release a nice d-mod, and those cool graphics you have would mak it all the better, but don't overstretch yourself.

and you?

Errmmm...how does that apply to me? I have admittedly been trying to make some REALLY ambitious d-mods, but I also have made and released some prett dang simple ones.
You'll see one in the next 48 hours...

Well, I actually only have 2 on the go right now : Kupo and Cloud Castle 2 (I'm sending AKT2 to a staff member right now).
But the amount of projects you do isn't relevant to how ambitious a project is. Besides, the vast amount of d-mods I have worked on means that future d-mods will be all the better, because I can take my experience and ideas onto those.

Don't bite me Sabre but I really don't think your opinion matters... Instead of criticising all the time, go ahead and make the ground breaking d-mod YOUR always promised. I won't take notice until that time
I don't want to make a ground breaking d-mod...And even if I did I couldn't. I simply don't have the skills at programming. I just enjoy making d-mods which are fun to play and let me tell a story, simple as that. And I wasn't being critical, I was trying to offer constructive advice. Grow up Jamie.
EDIT : I thought I should mention that I have tried to make parts of a d-mod very cool, which is ambitious. But not revolutionary.
As an example, a gameplay element I decided to scrap in "A Knights Tale 2" was when a certain point in the game was reached, text would come up on screen saying *PRESS L KEY NOW*. You would have only a second to press it, but if you did, Jarvis did something very cool (like kick a chair into the oncoming Goblins). I scrapped it because it was too hard to implement though.

amen to that
the kid of ice still hasn't changed a bit

now a question to all
how many dmod projects do you have, that you are working on for quite a while?
i do

Well, the two projects I am working on currently, CC2 and Kupo, are both going to take a while to finish, but have had a fair bit of work done on them as well.
My main problem with making d-mods is that I am not consistent enough in how much I want to do them. I go on huge binges of scripting and mapping for a project, but don't touch it agains for weeks or months. That's why I like AKT so much, because it is small enough for me to finish in one binge.

Precisely why I don't post threads so often, because literally everything I type is critisised
Err...no.
The only time you get criticised is when you revert to your usual childish state, like you did when you a go at me for supposedly being critical.
If you were a bit more snesible (or learned to read) then I, and nobody else, would be mean to you.
Stop wallowing in self pity and make your d-mod dammit!

I recall myself being the height of maturity doing 2 very clean, kind, and meaningful articles. Which were both critisised at points, a few of which I recall were minor critisism by yourself

You conceited and egotistical bum!
I did criticise them, as did others, because they had parts which deserved to be criticised. Certainly, some of what you wrote was intelligent, but you also wrote some complete rubbish.
So stop complaining about being picked on (if that's what you are doing...it's hard to tell sometimes) and just get on with the d-mod and prove me wrong. Not that I have even said you won't do it, but if you do release a brilliant d-mod I will eat my own tail.

Look. I'll buy one of youse guys a plane ticket to duke it out with the other if that means that you'll both stop whining at each other on the board.

lol, we don't even need a plane ticket! We both live in England, so when I go travelling next year, I'll make a point to go down to Plymouth (where icechild lives) to tell his parents to box his ears.
Or maybe I'll go to India. Decisions decisions...
