RW's wonderful new WinDinkEdit+ 2 has been updated for the new year with more shiny features and fixes added. It's looking a lot faster and more streamlined to use!

Nice!! Excellent additions now all you need is multi sprite selection and I am a very happy camper

Is the space bar supposed to turn on hardness editing? (it locked on me and I couldn't do anything) Pressing it again wont turn it off I have to choose r or t to get out of it.

Love the new bits and bobs - especially the auto script - real nice for newbies. (haven't checked if it saves a new script under the dmod name tho heh)

Would like a choice where a new sprite isn't hard - all choices include hard (I personally use a lot of not hard sprites)

You have been very busy RW really good job

Thankfully, my brain is rewritable.
Yes, I wanted to start working on sprite multi-select, but then I saw how horrible the undo system was and fixed that instead. I'll try to implement that in 2.2 if I can.

No, the space bar doesn't turn on hardness editing (not on my PC at least), it only previews hardness. Make sure your keyboard isn't overflowing with glue.

I don't know why you can only create hard sprites, everything works perfectly fine on my side. Let's talk after your keyboard has made a trip to the cleaners.

Yes, well, my greatest hobby is programming, and as I am still in high school (senior year arghh!!), I am in my winter vacation now. So I have lots of time to go to sleep at 3AM, get up at 1PM and sit in front of the computer all day long.

Oh, and Happy New Year to everyone!

Very nice
Haven't had time to really use it properly, found a couple of bugs so far though...

Selecting nohit from the right click menu makes the sprite vanish! Pressing undo makes it come back but does not affect the nohit selection. Basically to add nohit to a sprite you need to select nohit and then press undo to make it reappear.

Dragging the screen around is slow and jerky compared to WDE+, which does it smoothly. Can't remember what your original version was like but 2.1 is not nice...

And a feature request!
Is it possible you could make it show the sprite sequence and frame number on mouseover? Perhaps on the bottom near the screen info etc.

Whoops! This is what I get for not testing things properly.

The nohit bug will probably be an easy one to fix, but I wonder why the dragging is so slow. One thing I did was replace a function that loaded graphics from disk... hmm... I'll look into it. Oh, and 2.0 seems to do it much better.

Showing the sequence and frame in the status bar can be done easily enough.

I'm working on multi-sprite mode now, which could take a while to implement, so don't bet on 2.2 coming out tomorrow.

Oh, and just as an interesting fact: I started tinkering with this in June. I wasn't so good with C++ then, and the fact that the WDE+ source released here was actually that of a never-finished v1.3 (which made it awful) got on my nerves so much that I shelved the whole thing (after a month of work) until November! I was also discouraged by the fact that Chickenfist started working on his HJDinkEdit, and I thought that if he releases that before I release WDE+2, then I will never release WDE+2 and my work would have been for nothing. Then I got very bored one day in November, and HJDinkEdit seemed to be dead, so thought why not continue where I left off with my project! And as I'm getting to know C++, MFC and the source code better and better, features that would have seemed far-fetched a couple of months ago now actually look implementable.

If you are doing another update RW would be awesome if u looked at getting it to work from dfarc, I can select wde2+ and say that's the editor I wanna use but then when I close and reopen dfarc, wde2+ is again no longer my selected editor and it reverts to my previous choice. Anyway for wde2+ to somehow "speak to" Dfarc and make it keep my selection/choice and make this my default or is that unable to be done? (I realise it works separately from DFArc, so just askin ok )
