beginning dmod creation
i can't run dinkedit. i haven't really tried to figure out whats wrong other than clicking on its icon, but is their anything specific i need to do to get it to work?
If you have Windows XP, you'll have to download the patch found on the official Dink Smallwood website
I don't like Windinkedit. It find DinkEdit much nicer to use...but that's just me...
You can actually get it right here too in the Official Files section.
i got the patch...and once i click on dinkedit the screen turns black as if the program is going to start and than the screen exits and ur back in windows. any suggestions
Well, if the patch doesn't work and you don't have any clue what to do, as a last resort, you should switch to Windinkedit

Try setting it to Windows 95 or 98. That worked for me. Just rightclick on it and you'll see a menu where you can change that.
You should download WinDinkEdit from this site. And use the editor in the new folder you created for your D-mod.

you must download windinkedit, but try this first:
when you make a dmod you NEED to place the files ( from skeleton ) into a new sub-dir
EXAMPLE:
c:\program files\dink smallwood\newdmod\
Next, press start -> run -> programs -> dink smallwood -> frontend
check "play with this dmod" select the new one from the list, skeleton dmod
and press "edit"
