Is it worth the money?

eh, not really.

If you can get CFW, yes. It's an awesome device. The games exclusive to it are awesome. I recommend Valkyria CHronicles 2, Crisis Core, Pursuit Force Extreme Justice, The 3rd Birthday, Gurumin.
It's a nice device. Be sure to buy it, but if you get custom firmware, it's even cooler.
But $175 seems too much. It should be $125 now.

I would add Final Fantasy Dissidia 2012 to it (includes the first game) and also Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep if you're into that. Jeanne D'Arc was also an excellent PSP tactical RPG.

Edit: more detail, it has awesome CG animations and a great story and awethum gameplay (PS if you have CFW set the CPU speed to 266 MHZ to prevent slowdown)
The slowdown when there are many Twisted on the screen is the only problem, but if you have custom firmware set the PSP CPU speed to 266 Mhz in the recovery menu and no slowdowns, making it perfect.

I think I'll give it a try then I liked Parasite Eve 2 when it came out but I heard this game didn't really feel the same anymore.

It's more action-ish, but it's great. It has only a few RPG elements, like leveling up. Don't believe Gamespot's review, by the way

Custom Firmware is a thingy you get when you hacck your PSP so you can pirate stuff and gain access to a lot of cool features.

How about PSP Go for 290 $

I think everybody pretty much knows my opinion already. I'd spend the money until I find something I really, really, really need, or want. If this is that, I think you should get it, but I don't think you want this that much if you need to ask us.

Hell, I'd spend it to go see Cowboys & Aliens instead.

I've already seen that movie twice! And godley i think you should buy a PS3 rather than PSP,I don't like handhelds that much.

DOn't buy PSP GO. It doesn't accept UMDs, it can't have CFW, it's expensive for no reason! It's useless!
I don't like consoles as much as handhelds.

I have two PSPs actually, but I made the mistake of buying a PSP3000 which did have superior colors, but it has these REALLY annoying interlacing lines across the screen when stuff is moving. Huge turnoff, so I went back to my PSP Fat.

I have a 2000, it's nice but I think the 1000 is the best

Actually, many people see PSX as the last console before "real gaming" died. I'd have to mostly agree, although there are still some games made to this day that I throughoutly enjoy. I just think XBox and PS2 and Nintendo need to get some sense knocked into them and start working together. Remember when you could port a hundred thousand controllers from any console into any console, or even buy additional stuff into your consoles so you could play for example, a Nintendo game on a Sega console. That would NEVER happen nowadays!

Console wars suck (I support Sony ) and if the PS Vita and 3DS ever have any connectivity with each other both system's sales will increase.

I don't care about the consoles, only about the games. Like, I don't actually want to buy a 3DS, but the next Kingdom Hearts game is for the 3DS and as such I must have one. That's the reasoning for each console the way I look at it^^

Edit: No, you're right. It's because the value of the dollar has decreased. When I bought mine, it was $125, but the value of the dollar has decreased so today the same amount is $210.

tbh i'd buy a psp even in 2018. It's apparently the most moddable console so not only can you play psp games on a psp (i know, crazy right?) but also nes,snes, gameboy, sega genesis, nintendo 64, etc. games on it.

i Still use my psp , its a excellent music player and i have a ton of umd videos to watch at times. some of the psp games still hold good today vs 3ds and it emulates sega cd well

the battery cover is duckin horrible though
