Wild ARMs second book
Yep, I began writing Wild ARMs book 2 a while back. It's still about the first game obviously, and continues from the last book. This one will be much longer, and I am aiming this one to be much better as well. I started another thread cause no people seemed to take interest in the other one anymore, so I needed an evil plan for you to check this out.
Here's the first chapter. It may seem long, but I think it's pretty good. It may start off a little rusty, but gets better towards the end.
Chapter 1
The Mountain Pass
One week from the date of the attack...
Rudy and Jack were preparing theirself in the bedchamber of Adlehyde Castle. On Jack's right shoulder, pushing the well-built man's long, blond hair out of it's face, was a blue Wind Mouse, with a long tail and furry ears, named Hanpan. It was facing Rudy, the fifteen year-old, blue haired boy with a band-aid on his cheek and was worried for him. Their upcoming adventure was not for such a young boy, but there was nothing the Wind Mouse could do to keep him from coming with them.
"This is our destiny!", Jack encouraged the two, "The three of us going after the monsters". Hanpan knew very well that the 'third person' was not himself, but the seventeen year-old princess, who was waiting for them in her chamber. The blue Wind Mouse's thoughts were stopped, as Jack turned around and sighed:
"I really don't want to do this, but we must fetch the princess. We're running out of time".
They left the bedroom, and walked through the hallways of the castle, occasionally nodding at the few knights who passed them by. They decided to take the shorter way, through the barracks. As the three came to the end of the stairway, they were greet with a horrible sight of a destroyed Adlehyde. The houses were mostly burned with some of them collapsed or about to. The sky was still covered in somewhat of dark clouds and ash, from the fire that they all were in, a week ago. Surprisingly, the stone walls, which surrounded the town and separated it from the plains, seemed to have survived from the demons' attack.
Rudy and Jack, along with Hanpan on his shoulder, continued through the barracks, soon arriving to the other side of the castle. They stepped into the hallways and were soon at the door of Princess Cecilia's room.
As they opened the door, and stepped into the princess' room, a familiar, young girl was waiting for the three, in a somewhat unfamiliar outside appearance.
Her golden hair, which she had placed a hairband over, didn't even reach to her shoulders, anymore, and she was wearing some sort of an old, blue coat and a green skirt.
As Jack and Cecilia walked over to Cecilia, she giggled and joked:
"Do you like my hair? It's a lot easier to manage". Her grin was soon faded away as she took a more serious attitude.
"I can't sit and cry forever", she explained, "I'm waiting for the rainbow after the rain stops. I'll be strong again. Please, take me with you".
The three exited the chamber, and headed into the Council Room, which was on the same floor. The knight, who was guarding at the Council Room's door, smiled at them and let the party enter.
The room was raelatively empty, with only a few wooden chairs here and there, a big
table in the center, layed on a blue carpet. On the wall was a map of Filgaia, and some windows where the sun dimly shined through. Behind the table, an old familiar man, with some white hairs in the middle of his bald, was examining some pergaments while waiting for Cecilia and her companions.
"Minister Johan?", Cecilia asked the old man who seemed to be lost in his own thoughts. The old man lifted his face from the table and for a while looked like he had seen a ghost. Then he remembered.
"Oh yes, I invited you here before you leave", he smiled. Cecilia and Jack walked over to the minister, while Rudy stayed in the doorway, leaning to the wall. Minister Johan sighed:
"I hate the fact that you're carrying the burden by yourselves". He paused and tried to take a more positive tone into his voice, "But, our future depens on your journey". Cecilia smiled at the old man.
"Don't worry", she said, "For the glory of Adlehyde and Filgaia, I shall reclaim the *Tear Drop*". She then paused for a few seconds, clearly to everybody in the room, thinking long and hard before saying her next words.
"The Water Guardian, *Stoldark*, has spoken to me about the danger", she explained, "If you say I am the Shaman Princess of the Guardians, then I'm proud to be the Innocent One". Rudy, Jack and Hanpan, all looked at eachother, obviously a little stunned at what they had just heard. Who was even more stunned, was Minister Johan, who just barely managed to get the words out from his mouth:
"The princess had a vision. There is no doubt now. You must follow your destiny, Princess". The minister glimpsed at the map, hanging on the other side of the room.
"Go west, through the Mountain Pass and you will find the town of Milama", he guided, "There, you'll find a large shrine. If you are the Innocent One, then you must go there". Cecilia looked at Rudy and Jack, who were just staring. She shrugged:
"I don't know anything about being a shaman. But if I can be of any help, I'll deal with whatever is expected of me". She turned to face her companions and smiled.
"Let's go!". They walked out from the Council Room, Cecilia, for one for time, looking at Minister Johan, who smiled at her, with tears in his eyes.
As they made their way to the entrance of the castle, some of the knights, guarding even more effective, than in the past, gave the three some words of encouragement. Cecilia smiled at them, while Rudy and Jack kept a more serious face.
"We should buy some better equipment before we leave", Jack said, and Rudy, along with Cecilia and Hanpan, agreed.
Cecilia and Jack went to the shop, which was also protected by a guarding Adlehyde knight now. As Jack bought a new sword, along with some antidote leeves and Cecilia bought a new staff, Rudy went to the inn and bought some bullets for his Hand Cannon.
As they met at the town's gates, no words were exhanged between the four. They walked out.
For the next 16 hours, the companions travelled north-west from where they had left. The plains were empty and the only animals they saw were birds flying in the clouds. After they had gotten through a small, thick forest, Jack informed:
"We'll take a slow start. Keep a small break here, and eat something". Rudy and Cecilia, nor Hanpan for that matter, had any complaints. They all sat down and began
searching for food inside the backpack that Rudy had been carrying all the way from Adlehyde. They found some bread, and began eating slowly. The only thing that could be heard for the next while was the four adventurers chewing on the, what tasted many months old, bread. Their all heads rised though, when Cecilia suddenly asked Jack what was the first thing up against them. Jack explained:
"Mountain Pass. It may sound like just a passage through the mountains, but there are lots of poisonous monsters in that place".
"How long will it take to get through?", Cecilia questioned. Jack sighed:
"I have been in there before. It is a dark and filthy place. The fastest time of getting through has been around ten hours", he took a deep breath and gazed upon his friends, "And if it's anything like last time I was in there, I'm aiming for two".
They finished eating and continued for another hour until they arrived at a long stone bridge. On the other side of the river under them, was a huge set of mountains, which continued until forever. On the other side of the bridge, they could just make out a small hole in the mountain wall. Once they had crossed the bridge, they entered inside the mountain.
The light was dim inside, at first, with only two big torches set burning to bring some visibility to the place. The air was filled with a smell of rotting bodies and poison.
At the entrance, two guards were standing, holding long spears. They only said:
"Dangerous winds blow through the Mountain Pass. Please be careful". The three friends nodded and entered through a small doorway to darkness.
The smell of poison got worse as the three made it deeper. The light from the torches couldn't be seen anymore, all that was around them was darkness. As they used their hands to feel around, they found some torches, but none of them were set burning.
Suddenly Cecilia screamed and they all collapsed in a big pile, except for Hanpan who was safely taking his naps inside Jack's pocket.
"Shhh, Cecilia! You'll wake the monsters up. That is, if they're even asleep", Jack complained.
"Don't hush me", was Cecilia's reply soon heard, "I think I touched something that wasn't a wall". As the three got up, Jack's hand found something metallic laying on the ground.
"Hey, I found something", he whispered. Cecilia screamed:
"I knew I wasn't making it up, even though sometimes I surprise myself with my imagination!".
"No, not anything like that. I think it's a lighter", Jack said as he stumbled up. He switched the lighter on and thy soon had some visibility around them.
But as Jack led the torch on the wall, it revealed something sitting on the ground, laying it's back against the wall. It was a human skeleton.
"I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!", Cecilia screamed and disappeared into the shadows, running for her life.
"Oh crap", Jack said out loud, "We've gotta catch her".
They ran after Cecilia, with Jack lighting the room somewhat, with the lighter, trying to desperately find their way through the maze of a place.
Soon they could see a doorway with daylight coming in through. They entered to the bright sunlight to find Cecilia laying on the ground. Over him, was flying a black creature, with giant wings like a bat’s and a body of a human. With the long claws in it’s toes, it tried to grab Cecilia, but was unable to.
“Help me, get this Harpy off of me!â€, Cecilia screamed at the two. Hanpan, whom was now sitting on Jack’s shoulder, leaped towards the Harpy and managed to bite one of it’s eyes out. The Harpy screamed in pain and flew away. Cecilia stumbled onto her feet.
“Quite a help you guys wereâ€.
“Well excuseme, but it ain’t my everyday job to save a damsel in distressâ€, Jack shot at the princess and helped Hanpan back up inside his coat’s collar. He then laid eyes around their surroundings. They were on a 10 feet ledge, with miles of drop under them. He glimpsed at Rudy, who was making sure Cecilia was alright. He then noticed some big birds above them, flying in a circle and smiled at their beauty. His smile soon turned into a horror as the three birds flew down towards them, and turned out to be three Harpies. The one which had attacked Cecilia earlier, had now come back with two friends.
One of them charged towards Jack, grabbing his sword and dropped it down the edge. While Jack was concentrating on his falling sword, another of the Harpies came flying into his back, knocking him down.
The third Harpy, the one with the now missing eye, had backed Rudy and Cecilia against the mountain’s wall. Rudy, using all the power within him, summoned his ARM into his hand. As the Harpy saw this, it quickly flew away to the horizont. Rudy took a step towards the other two Harpies, who were all over Jack and Hanpan, and pointed his Hand Cannon at them. They, too, flew away following the other Harpy. Rudy waited for a while, making sure the Harpies wouldn’t come back, and then summoned the Hand Cannon away.
Jack stumbled onto his feet, worrying for his two friends.
“Are you two alright?â€. Rudy nodded, and helped Cecilia get up.
“It is a beautiful view up hereâ€, Jack said, “I doubt those Harpies will be returning any time soon, thanks to Rudyâ€, he smiled and gave the boy a wink, “Let’s use this opportunity and take a quick break before continuingâ€.
They sat down on the grassy ledge, all leaning into the mountain to prevent anyone from falling off, and to savor the beautiful view.
They spent a while, just sitting there, not saying a word. After around half an hour, Rudy took the backpack off of him, and began searching it for food. He tossed two breads to Jack and Cecilia. The boy then broke the last bread in two, and put the other half in the backpack, in case of an emergency.
“Hanpan, I know you’d like some food, so come out of my dang collarâ€, Jack teased his little Wind Mouse.
“No way am I coming out until we’re out of this place!â€, Hanpan screamed. They took another half an hour eating and resting, when Jack finally stood up, speaking:
“The winds seem to be getting worse. Believe me, we want to get back inside the mountain before the winds get too strongâ€. The three continued their way on the mountain ledge, with everyone occasionally searching their sights for any more Harpies. Hanpan, who was now sitting on Cecilia’s shoulder, encouraged the girl, who was still shocked of the Harpies.
â€It’s okayâ€, she said, â€It’s not the first time I’ve ran into monsters. I was just caught unawareâ€.
â€Yes, sometimes even average things, when unexpected, can shock you for lifeâ€, the Wind Mouse explained. Jack laughed:
â€Since when did you become such a philosopher?â€. Hanpan leaped on Jack’s shoulder, launching his verbal counterattack:
â€Since the day I have had to aid you and your thick skull, Jackâ€.
Jack, Rudy, Cecilia and Hanpan followed the mountain’s ledge for the next hour, until they finally came to a small, wooden bridge that hung between a small gap in the ledge. Hanpan yawned:
â€This is getting very tiresome. I wish we were out of this place. I think I’m gonna go sleep in your collar, Jackâ€. Jack wasn’t paying attention to his Wind Mouse, but rather at the endurance of the old bridge.
â€I think it’s safe to crossâ€, he informed his two friends, and they began crossing the bridge.
They managed to get around halfway over the bridge, when the increasing wind knocked Rudy off the bridge.
â€Rudy!â€, Cecilia screamed. She realized Rudy had fallen off, and that there was no way he could have survived the fall alive. Jack grabbed Cecilia and quickly carried her over the bridge, before any more powerful winds would start blowing. He gazed to the bridge, to find a happy sight. Rudy was hanging from the bridge, desperately pulling himself up. Jack pointed at Rudy:
â€Look Cecilia!â€. The princess now saw Rudy too. The fifteen-year-old boy managed to pull himself on the bridge, and then carefully balanced over the rest of the bridge.
â€Boy, you sure had us worried thereâ€, Jack smiled at Rudy, â€Let’s continue. I want to get out of this place before the sun setsâ€.
They continued onward for a few minutes, until they came to another hole in the mountain’s wall. They stepped in.
Inside, there were long stone stairs, and in the end they saw daylight. The daylight from both ways gave them a pretty good view, and they could make out dark holes in the walls that surrounded the stairs.
They began stepping down the stairs, with Jack in the front, Rudy last and Cecilia in between them, because the stairs were too narrow for them to walk side-by-side. The poisonous smell that didn’t reach to outside was once again clear in the air, and this time it seemed even stronger.
Suddenly, a gigantic purple bear jumped out from one of the holes in the walls. It grabbed Rudy by his shoulders and crushed him against the wall with a horriying strength. Rudy tried to battle back, but the bear was just too strong.
â€dang those Gallowbears!â€, Jack cursed, â€I forgot about themâ€. He swinged his sword right into the bar’s back, but it had no effect. The bear now turned to face Jack. It swinged it’s huge paw and knocked Jack’s sword out of his hands. The treasure hunter tried to search for Hanpan in his coat’s pockets, to see if the little Wind Mouse had any bright ideas.
â€Wait, that’s it. Brightâ€, Jack thought, â€Gallowbears live in these dark caves, so they must not be used to bright lightsâ€. He then immediately pulled out the lighter he had found a while ago, and turned it on. The bear seemed got a little hesitated, but the fire of the lighter was not bright enough. Jack then yelled:
â€Cecilia, do you know any bright spells?â€
â€Well, I know a fireball spell. Will that be of any good?â€, the princess asked.
â€Yesâ€, Jack responded, â€Shoot a wall of fire inbetween us and the Gallowbearâ€.
â€But Rudy is still thereâ€, Cecilia said, â€We can’t just leave him thereâ€.
â€Don’t worry, I’ll go get him. You just handle the spellâ€, Jack said.
The Gallowbear had now turned it’s attention to Rudy, whom was laying on the ground. As it was about to deliver another shot with it’s paw, Jack slid between it’s legs, and lifted Rudy on his shoulder. But before he managed to run, the bear bit Rudy on his shoulder.
â€Dammit!â€, Jack yelled, â€Just hang on Rudyâ€. He ran back to Cecilia, and the girl casted her fireball spell on the ground, which instantly created a big wall of fire between the monster and the three humans. The bear roared and backed away into the same hole it had come out from.
Jack took a firmer grip of Rudy, and the the two, with Cecilia, continued their path down the stairs with the wall of fire continuing to rage behind them.
When they had made their way down the stairs, they came to two men holding spears, positioned similarly to the guards at the other entrance of the Mountain Pass.
As the three made their way through the hole in the mountain, the two men who were guarding didn’t even seem to notice them, nor that Rudy was injured.
Outside, where the setting sun had colored the cloudy sky red, Cecilia began cursing:
â€How rude those two men were! They didn’t even pay attention to Rudyâ€.
â€It’s worse than you thinkâ€, Jack responded. He noticed Cecilia’s questioning face and explained:
â€He got bit by the Gallowbear. Their teeth are poisonousâ€. Cecilia kneeled next to Rudy and began examining him. She found the bitemarks on his shoulder, but came to conclusion:
â€I don’t have anyt spells that can cure poisoningâ€. Hanpan, who had come out of Jack’s coat’s collar once again, was walking in circles, nervously trying to come up with some conclusion to the situation.
â€The water town of Milama is to the southâ€, Jack said, â€There should be a priest that can take care of this in there. But we need to move fast, Rudy might not survive until next morning. All I can do right now is give him some of these Antidote Leafsâ€. He opened Rudy’s mouth, put some Antidote Leags in, which Rudy almost unconsciously swallowed.
â€Come on, we’ve gotta leave south. We don’t have much time to reach Milamaâ€, Jack said. Cecilia got up and took Hanpan on her shoulder, while Jack lifted Rudy on his.
They began making their way south.
The journey was not easy. The plains the three humans were walking through, was long and deserted, and having to carry Rudy made their journey twice longer.
It was already night-time, and the sun had set under the horizont. Millions of stars were shining in the night-sky.
Hanpan had fell asleep inside Cecilia’s pocket. Rudy was in a bad condition, and had begun sweating. Jack stopped and lowered Rudy onto the ground. He began speaking:
â€I know I said we don’t have much time, but we have got to rest. The way through the Mountain Passage was a difficult task on its own. But this just makes it even more difficultâ€.
â€But what if Rudy doesn’t make it?â€, Cecilia cried. Jack sighed:
â€Rudy is a strong kid. I bet I can keep him in a somewhat good condition with these Antidote Leafs. Besides, resting is only gonna do good to him. It will do good to all of usâ€.
Jack and Cecilia placed Rudy in a good position on the ground. Jack went off to look for some wood to start a good campfire. Cecilia waited next to Rudy. However, she soon fell asleep.
She woke up to the smell of smoke. Jack was treating Rudy next to her, and Hanpan was sitting at the campfire, which was where the smell of smoke was coming from. She sat next to Hanpan.
â€So, what do you think?â€, she asked the Wind Mouse. Hanpan looked at her for a while.
â€About what?â€
â€Well, do you think Rudy’s gonna make it?â€
â€Well, poison is usually deadlyâ€, Hanpan sighed, â€But Rudy is a strong kid, I am sure he can make itâ€. Cecilia, who now sighed in response, told the Wind Mouse:
â€I just wish Jack wouldn’t be so rash with his actions. He doesn’t understand that Rudy could dieâ€.
â€He understandsâ€, the little mouse explained, â€Sure, he can be a little thick skulled at times, but he cares about the boy. But he also knows how unforgiving the wilderness can be. Trust me, this rest will do you goodâ€, Hanpan sighed again, â€However, I’m not sure if it will do Rudy any good, like Jack presumesâ€.
The two looked back to Jack who was treating Rudy with the Antidote Leafs. Cecilia continued:
â€It’s not only about Rudy. We don’t have time forever until the demons are able to use the *Tear Drop* for destructionâ€. Hanpan smiled at the girl:
â€Don’t worry about that at the moment. Worry about Rudy, because without him, we may not have a chance to get the *Tear Drop* backâ€.
Cecilia soon fell asleep again.
She woke up with her eyes glancing at the beautiful yellow sky caused by the rising sun. She got up to see Rudy and Jack, along with Hanpan on his shoulder, sitting at the campfire which had almost burnt out.
“Rudy!â€, she joyed as she saw him in a much better condition. Rudy turned his head around and smiled.
“How are you doing?â€, Cecilia asked. Rudy looked at the ground, his smile turning into what almost seemed like shame.
“A little betterâ€, he said with a dry and a very low voice, “But I still need some help with standing up and walkingâ€. He then turned his face back towards the campfire. Jack patted Rudy on his shoulder and encouraged the boy:
“Don’t worry, we’ll help you. You are a tough guy, you know that? Many people would be dead in your positionâ€.
“Eh, Jackâ€, Cecilia stopped him, “I’m not sure that’s such a nice thing to hear. Especially if you’re in his positionâ€. Jack swallowed hard and quickly corrected himself:
“I mean…â€, but Rudy cut him off:
“Don’t worryâ€.
They ate some Heal Berries that Jack had found during his search for wood, last night. When the sun had almost risen past the horizont, Jack stumped the campfire into pieces and said:
“That should keep any monsters unaware of our presence. Okay, let’s continueâ€. He picked Rudy up from under his shoulder, and told him to lean onto him.
They continued south, until they came to two signs which said:
“East to Sand Riverâ€, with an arrow to their left, and “South to the water village of Milamaâ€, with an arrow to their forward.
“We’re heading to Milamaâ€, Jack said and they continued forward.
Hanpan hopped on Cecilia’s shoulder and spoke:
“Well, what did I tell you? It was better to rest. If we didn’t, we would all be beat right nowâ€. Cecilia nodded:
“Yes, I see now. I was just tired and worried last night, that’s allâ€. Hanpan smiled at the girl, and they continued their way.
It was past noon, when in the distance they could see a great sight of a small town. It’s houses and streets made of stone, and around the streets, was growing great amounts of well-cut grass. In the town’s canals, which were all around the place, was flowing water, making sounds of pure beauty.
It was such a relaxing sight for Jack, Rudy, Cecilia and Hanpan, that they didn’t even notice that their feet had already carried them into the town..
“Take Rudy into the churchâ€, Jack told Cecilia and Hanpan. “I’ll go buy us some equipment from the stores.
While Cecilia and Hanpan did as they were told, Jack searched around the town and met a salesman who sold him a great sword with an incredibly small price. He also told about many of his kind, who came through the cave to the east a long time ago. Jack then went to the shop and bought some more food, Heal Berries, and other equipment. This shopkeeper, friendly also, told him that if Jack needed anything, he should just go to the pub. Many of travellers apparently visited there.
Jack went to the church, where a calming sight awaited him. The priest, with his magical abilities, had healed Rudy. And the boy was now standing next to Cecilia and Hanpan, with a big smile on his face. A big grin was now forming on Jack’s face too.
“Good to see you back in full strength, kidâ€.

Here's the first chapter. It may seem long, but I think it's pretty good. It may start off a little rusty, but gets better towards the end.

The formatting when you pasted it here screwed it up. Could you fix those weird symbols? Maybe copy it to notepad first and then onto the forum

Try to use a different browser. That should fix it.

The content and writing style are fine, but the spelling and grammar needs work. But I think you're already aware of that. All you can do is keep improving your English until you get really good at it. The best way to work at that is by reading other books, as many as possible.
In any case, it was a nice read for the story
I think you might want to try to end chapters with foreshadowing to the next or by buildig tension, or a cliffhanger. That's what most authors try to do and is the main reason for people to get that feeling of: "One more chapter!".
In any case, it was a nice read for the story

Can you explain a little clearer? Maybe give an example of these parts where spelling and grammar need work.

"Rudy and Jack were preparing theirself" --- Theirself does not in fact exist in the English language, it's a very common error. Plus, you need a plural form. In this case it would be "themselves".
"they were greet with a horrible sight" --- Greeted by.
"The sky was still covered in somewhat of dark clouds and ash" --- leave out "somewhat of".
There's more, I'll see if I can spend some time on it tonight
"they were greet with a horrible sight" --- Greeted by.

Thank you for this most enlightening information, Mr.Kyle.

Some more:
"seemed to have survived from the demons' attack." --- Survived the demon's attack.
"continued through the barracks, soon arriving to the other side of the castle." --- At the other side
"in a somewhat unfamiliar outside appearance." --- Outward appearance.
"who was guarding at the Council Room's door" --- Get rid tof the "at".
"a big table in the center, layed on a blue carpet." --- I honestly can't tell what this is supposed to mean. Do you mean the table is on top of a blue carpet?
"with some white hairs in the middle of his bald" --- Forgot the word hair after bald?
"examining some pergaments" --- As far as I know pergaments is not an existing English word. I think you mean parchment, or vellum.
"She then paused for a few seconds, clearly to everybody in the room, thinking long and hard before saying her next words." --- Not sure what the middle part is supposed to mean, but the way it's written now is very unclear. Do you mean that it's clear to everyone in the room that she is thinking hard?
Perhaps more some other time

Ah, I see most of the mistakes. However, I've never heard of "outward appearance". Also, isn't "demons'" spelled correctly when there are more than one demon? "Demon's" would mean only one demon. Thanks for these though, will fix them tomorrow.

Just google outward appearance, it's the normal way to talk about someone's look or features.
I actually meant you have to remove the "from" in that sentence. The part about the demons was already correct

New chapter:
Chapter 2
The Three Guardians
Rudy continued the day slowly, to fully gain his strength back. He was sitting at a bench outside, along with Hanpan. The two enjoyed the sunny day, and Rudy felt like he had never seen a more beautiful weather. He thought about it, and felt amused how humans take everything for certain until they find themselves in some sort of big trouble. Hanpan looked up to Rudy and was about ask the boy something, but decided it was better to let him enjoy the day.
Out from the crowd of people, suddenly came a small boy, running past the two, and after the boy came a big man, his face covered in an angry expression, yelling:
“Let this be the last time you bully your sister!â€. Rudy quickly got up and grabbed the man’s by his wrist.
“Rudy, what are you doing?â€, Hanpan yelled. Rudy took a deep look into the man’s fearing eyes, and let go. The man ran away, not after the kid, but instead back to the sea of people.
“Hey, what’s going on?â€, Cecilia and Jack came over to them, “What was up with that, Rudy?â€. Rudy looked at the two, and in a low, almost scary voice responded:
“His mistake is not his father’s to judge. If I can effect what may be the last times of his life, let them be happy, I say. We should be fighting against the demons, not between ourselvesâ€. Jack and Cecilia stood there shocked. This was the first time they had heard Rudy speak so much to them.
“But these people don’t even know about the demonsâ€, Jack told Rudy.
“Exactly, and that is why I needed to step inâ€, Rudy explained. Jack was about to say something, but Cecilia cut him off:
“I’m hungry, is there any place here where we can get some food?â€. Jack turned towards her:
“I heard there’s a pub somewhere around here. We could check there. We could get information of the shrine Minister Johan spoke of, if we ask the people in there. Most *Dream Chasers* probably hang out thereâ€. Jack signaled Hanpan to jump into his pocket, which the Wind Mouse gladly did. They left for the pub, which located in the middle of the small town. A beautiful fountain was spurting water in front of the pub, symboling the water that Milama was so well known of.
As Jack, Rudy and Cecilia entered the pub, the sight was much more pleasing than what they had expected. The place was clean and tidy, with wooden tables and chairs. People, most who looked like had much experience of travelling around Filgaia, were either sitting on their own, or talking amongst themselves. In front of them, was a wooden bar bench, and behind it stood a small and an old man, with black hair covering his head, except from the top, where he was clearly beginning to grow bald from.
The three walked over to the bar bench, and asked the man about the shrine. The man stared at them for a while, looking like he was about to faint. He then shook his head and said:
“The Guardians?! I didn’t think anyone knew of them anymoreâ€. Rudy, Jack and Cecilia looked at eachother, with puzzled eyes. The man then continued:
“I may be of some help. My father was the last keeper of the Guardian Shrine. He told me many storiesâ€. He then looked around himself.
“Wait until the customers are gone, will ya? This isn’t a temple I’m running hereâ€. He then returned to serving the other people in the pub. Cecilia sighed:
“We don’t have time to sit here, while the demons plan on destroying Filgaiaâ€. Jack looked at her.
“Relax, we can relax here for a while. Did you plan we would be on the move without a stop?â€.
“If that’s what it takes to save Filgaia, then yesâ€, Cecilia said. The pub owner came back over to the three and asked them:
“Why don’t you guys eat something while you wait?â€. Jack nodded to the man and Cecilia said:
“Okay, five hamburgers pleaseâ€. The man looked at the girl, and seemed as if he was going to faint again.
“Wow, that’s a lot of food. Who’s going to eat all of it?â€. Cecilia grinned and pointed at herself.
The day passed and the sun was already about to set down, as the final customers of the pub were leaving. Jack, Rudy and Cecilia were sitting at the table next to the door. Jack looked at Cecilia. Amazed, he said:
“I can’t believe you had seconds…â€. Cecilia looked at him, and explained:
“Magic casting requires a lot of energy. That’s why I’m always hungry after a battle. Plus, I love hamburgersâ€. She suddenly stopped, looking as if she had seen a ghost. Jack and Rudy looked at her, puzzled, but the answer soon dawned to them, as Cecilia let out a huge burp. Her friends looked at her for a while. Rudy then burst out into a massive laugh, holding his stomach. Cecilia continued:
“I learned how fun it was to eat through cooking and eating hamburgers at the abbeyâ€. She looked down under the table, at her feet, and her expression melted into sadness. Rudy noticed this and stopped laughing. The princess looked at her two friends:
“Everyone loves me because I’m a princess, not because I’m *Cecilia*. If people need me because of what I symbolize, then I shall do what’s asked of meâ€. She sighed.
“I will retrieve the *Tear Drop*â€. Rudy and Jack looked at eachother across the table.
The pub’s owner then called for them:
“Okay, I’m ready. Let’s talk about the Guardiansâ€. Cecilia and her friends walker over to the man, and he began explaining:
“There is a room that only priests were permitted to see. My father probably wanted me to be a priest because he made me memorize the password to the room. Write this downâ€. He handed Jack a piece of parchment and a quill. Jack dipped the quill into some ink that was in a jar, sitting on the bar bench, and wrote as the owner said:
“Light the fire at two, then at ten. When you light the fire at six, the doors will open at twelve. Go through the temple with the lightâ€. He shook his head.
“I’m not sure what this means, but I’m sure you will find out. Now excuseme, but I have to get back to workâ€, and with that said, he began collecting the numerous glasses on the tables. Jack looked at the piece of parchment he had written on, and took it into his hand.
“I wonder what this means?â€, he said. Cecilia shrugged.
“Oh, I almost forgotâ€, the pub’s owner suddenly called them, “Take this with you… My father left this for me, but I don’t need it anymoreâ€. He handed Rudy some sort of an old, rusted medal. Rudy, Jack and Cecilia walked out of the pub, back into the daylight.
“Light the fire at ten, then…â€
“Will you cut it off?â€, Cecilia yelled. Jack had been repeating that line all the evening, after writing the pub’s owner’s words down.
“I’m just wondering what it meansâ€, Jack said in his defense.
“We’ll find out after we make it thereâ€. Hanpan and Rudy came with some more equipment. The boy tossed a dagger to Jack, who catched it with one hand.
“Thanks, these can be usefulâ€, he said and put it in a small pocket in his boot.
“Are you sure about this Jack? Going through the plains at nighttime?â€, Cecilia asked.
“Don’t worryâ€, Jack said, “There aren’t any monsters that roam these plains at night. It’s much easier to travel at night, when the sun has set, and it’s not as hotâ€. Rudy patted Cecilia on her shoulder as an encouragement. They packed their final belongings to a backpack, and Jack handed the pack to Rudy. The boy laughed and quietly said:
“It’s your turn this timeâ€. Jack chuckled, and lifted the backpack onto his back. They all began heading north-west, to the Guardian Shrine.
The moon was glowing on the dark night sky as the three humans and one Wind Mouse, made ther way through the dark plains. The journey was much faster and much less stressful than when they were heading in Milama. They had travelled for four hours, when Jack suddenly stopped and informed that they should take break. The others agreed. Jack, Cecilia and Hanpan looked on, as Rudy put up a campfire for them. Cecilia was confused that Jack would take a break so soon, and asked him:
“Why would we take a break so soon? I mean, I’m not complaining, but…â€. The treasure hunter looked at her.
“Wellâ€, he said, “I just thought that since we are not in such hurry as the other way around, and we have plenty of time until the sun rises, we can take it easy for a little whileâ€. Cecilia nodded, and went over to help Rudy light the campfire.
They ate some hamburgers, that Cecilia had secretly bought from the pub’s owner in Milama and packed in their backpack. Jack showed them where they were headed, with a small map that he had bought from Milama.
“So, here’s The Mountain Passâ€, he pointed at a mark on the map, that was located north of Milama, behind a mountain range, “Now, if the information I gathered from the people in Milama, the Guardian Shrine should be located somewhere around east of hereâ€, he pointed at the west side of the same mountain range, “There we should come to a long stone bridge, that leads us to the shrineâ€.
The four finished eating, and continued onward.
It was early in the morning. The sky as red and the air was chilling. But the three had rested well in Milama, and any of them were not tired yet.
As few more hours passed, the plains were starting to get hotter by the second. However, all their hopes got much higher, as Jack pointed to a stone bridge, which was much shorter than any of them expected, ahead. The bridge led to a small island in the middle of a lake.
“That’s got to be itâ€, Jack said. Cecilia looked at the other side of the bridge, and saw a great, big building on the small island. The building resembled an old temple, which it was.
“Definitely. That has got to be the Guardian Shrineâ€.
They began crossing the bridge, in desperation of getting out of the plains, bathing in the sun’s heat. The lake, which now surrounded them, blew some cold winds, which eased the heat.
It took them little time to get to the other side. The Guardian Shrine, which from the other side of the bridge seemed much smaller, was now standing in front of them, as a mighty structure. They stepped in of the open doors, and inside were greet with a beautiful sight. The walls and the pillars which held the roof up, were all made of gold. The floor was of purple stones. Someone had been in there a while ago, judging by the lighted torches around the shrine. This gave the three *Dream Chasers* a much better view. As Rudy, Jack and Cecilia made their way deeper into the room, they saw stone statues of winged warriors all around them. In front of them, was a big door, closed, and to its both sides, were two small golden stairs, leading up.
They tried to push the big door open, but despite how strong they tried, it didn't even budge. Rudy then noticed a small hole in the door.
"That's probably where this medal is supposed to go", Jack said, and shook the old medal, that the pub's owner in Milama had given them. He put the medal in the hole, and it was a perfect match. They waited, but nothing happened.
"Or then again, maybe not", Jack grinned. Cecilia looked at her two friends desperately.
"I wonder what's up there?", she said, pointing to the golden stairways around them. Jack looked around.
"You two take the stairs to the left, me and Hanpan will take the ones to the right". And so they did.
The stairs were short. Rudy and Cecilia soon ended up in a similar room, but in the middle, stood twelve torches. To Rudy's and surprise, they saw Jack, with Hanpan on his shoulder, already standing in the middle of the torches.
"As I thought", Jack said, "The two stairways led to the same room". He looked around and took the lighter out of his pocket.
"Let's get some more light in here", he said.
"No!", Cecilia yelled at him. Jack stared at her, with a question in his eyes. Cecilia cursed:
"For someone who repeated the same words for the whole yesterday, I'd think you remember what the man in Milama said". Jack stared at her, and shrugged his shoulders.
"Argh", Cecilia yelled and grabbed the lighter out of Jack's hand, "Gimme that! He said we should light the fire at two first". Jack laughed:
"Oh, now I remember. Sorry". Cecilia looked at her with an angry face.
"Which way is north?", she asked. Rudy pointed towards the wall with the two stairways. Cecilia smiled at him.
"Alright, so first we must light this one", she lighted the one north-east of her. Rudy and Jack glimpsed at eachother, and Rudy grinned at the irritated expression on the treasure hunter's face.
"There", Cecilia came over to the two after lighting four of the torches. Jack looked at her and complained:
"Well, nothing's happening". Rudy grabbed Jack by his shoulder and pointed at the torches, which all lighted up, one by one. Cecilia tossed the lighter back to Jack, who quickly put it back in his pocket.
They all took the stairs back down, in hopes of the big door being open now, but it wasn't.
"So, what now, princess?", Jack shot at Cecilia. The girl thought for a while, and shrugged.
"I don't know", she said. Suddenly, Rudy began searching Jack's pocket.
"Hey, what are you?", the treasure hunter complained, but the answer was provided to him soon, when Rudy showed him the medal, that the pub owner had given them.
"Of course", it now dawned to Cecilia as well. Rudy carefully placed the old, rusty medal into the hole in the wall. The old door began creaking and slowly opening. The *Dream Chasers* stepped into the room which the now-open door revealed.
The room inside was small and dark, but the torches in the other room gave them quite a clear view in this room. As they began looking around, they all noticed that the room was completely empty, except for a big mirror, which covered the entire opposite wall of the room.
"This must be the room where only the priests were allowed to come in", Jack thought. The three stood side-by-side in front of the mirror. Suddenly, a bright blue orb appeared in front of Cecilia, and flew into the mirror.
"I understand, Stoldark", the girl spoke, "We must go there". She took another step towards the mirror, staring at her own reflection. Jack stared at her.
"What are you planning to do now, princess?!", he yelled to her. Cecilia took another step, and disappeared into the mirror, as if she dived into water. Jack and Rudy glimpsed at eachother.
"Hey...", Jack yelled, "Follow her!", they ran after Cecilia, and they too disappeared into the deep darkness of the mirror.
Jack found himself in a similar room, of which he had just left, except that this one had no mirror, but instead a big doorway in it's place. Rudy and Cecilia were gone, and Hanpan was nowhere to be seen. He looked through the doorway, and saw a beautiful sword, sticking from the stone floor. He grabbed the sword by its handle.
"This sword contains the power I've been seeking", he thought to himself, "Now, I can have my revenge! This is *Absolute Power*". He pulled the sword, but it was stuck in the floor. He pulled it again, and managed to move it some more this time. Jack gave the sword one final pull and managed to pull it off. But as soon as he tried taking a firmer grip of the sword, it disappeared into thin air.
"What happened?!", Jack yelled, even though he knew none could hear him.
The reality around him seemed to disappear, and he was now standing in a darkness. He grunted and cursed in a loud voice:
"Where am I? Vast nothingness... It's like a dream". Suddenly, under his feet, appeared a large shining circle, almost like a blue spotlight.
"Is someone here?", the treasure hunter yelled, "Come out, whoever you are!". Suddenly, on the side of the circle, were standing six, all too familiar human figures for Jack. They began surrounding him, yet they did not move their feet, but somehow glided instead. Jack stared in disbelief.
"No way... It can't be...". A voice inside his head began speaking. Yet he knew, the voice was not inside his head, but instead was the voice of one of these dark figures. The voice spoke:
"You're the one who ran, Coward! You seek power, but you refuse to use it...". Jack now noticed that the circle he was standing in, was beginning to spin. His tone of voice turned angry:
"I've never run from anything before. I've accepted every challenge I've faced". The voice responded:
"You ran from your friends and your responsibilities. But most of all, you ran from yourself. Don't you get it? A *coward* can destroy, but the true power is the power of protection". The voice faded out, and Jack knelt in the middle of these figures.
"I know that... I really do...", he calmed down, "That is why I am seeking it. Please be patient". The figures around him then disappeared, one by one, as suddenly as they had appeared. Jack asked himself:
"Wait a minute? I'm going to be alone again?"
The spinning circle disappeared, and Jack found himself standing in the middle of four flaming torches, on a square platform, with a long fall into darkness on all his sides. In the distance, he saw some walls and symbols on them, but they were out of reach for him. All he could do was wait.
As he checked his pocket, Hanpan was in there, in a quiet sleep. Jack thought it was for best to let him take a nap. This sudden vision had made him tired too, but he couldn't rest now. Not until he knew what happened to Cecilia and Rudy.
Rudy shook his head, as the darkness faded away. He was standing in a room, similar to the one he had just left, but instead of where the mirror was, was a big doorway. He looked around and saw torches flaming, and creating light into the room. Someone, or something, had been in there.
The young *Dream Chaser* stepped through the open doorway, and found a small, familiar boy, standing in front of three big mirrors. The boy was Tony, from Surf Village. Rudy shook his head again, in disbelief. Tony turned around him and warned him about monsters coming. And in a second, a red monster did appear out of nowhere, standing behind Tony. Rudy quickly grabbed his sword and swung at the creature, which instead of falling to the ground, just disappeared into thin air, where it had arrived from.
Rudy turned back to Tony, to find the small boy backing away from him.
"I'm scared", the boy cried, "You're just as scary as the monsters. Your powers are not like ours". And suddenly, another villager from Surf appeared next to Rudy. He spoke:
"There is no place for you in this world. You are not needed here". After this one had finished, a second villager from Surf appeared next to the other one, saying:
"Nobody wants to be with you. You're a stranger... Who are you fighting for, *stranger*?". On Rudy's other side, a villager who used to be very close to him, arrived. It was Mayor Pifer. He asked Rudy:
"So, you use your powers to help people, eh? What does that prove? You're still distancing yourself from people". Next to Pifer, a Surf villager in a cowboy hat appeared, speaking:
"ARMs contain a form of energy that is different from the one found in humans. They could have originally belonged to the demons".
Behind Tony, a fifth adult appeared. He held Tony's shoulders, and Rudy recognized him as Tony's father. The man pointed at the mirror:
"You're another monster! We don't want you in Filgaia. Just look at you!". Rudy turned around, and looked into the mirror. All he saw was the reflection of the room. Taking another step towards the mirror, his reflection disappeared, and a red monster, similar of which he had just defeated, appeared in its place. The blue haired boy quickly backed away from the mirror, and as he turned around he found everyone of the villagers gone, except for Tony. Rudy walked closer to him, in hopes of encouraging words, but got nothing from the boy's mouth but:
"Filgaia isn't for you... You don't belong here". Having said that, Tony disappeared, and Rudy fell to his knees in despair.
As he got up, to his surprise, he found himself on a square platform with Jack. The two joyed as they saw eachother, but Jack soon asked:
"Where's Cecilia?". Rudy shrugged.
As for Cecilia, she found herself standing in a small room. She looked around herself, but as she did, the walls faded out around her, and instead she found herself standing in a familiar throne room.
"No... Not Adlehyde Castle!", she screamed as she recognized the place. As she said this, Minister Johan appeared in his usual place, next to the throne. He said:
"The princess herself is coming to save the world. May the Guardians be with her". A guard appeared to the far wall, talking:
"The princess is responsible for being a princess. Remember that".
"I know... I know... But...", Cecilia cried. Another guard appeared next to her, asking:
"Have you noticed that no one calls you by your name?". Cecilia gasped at this, tears falling on her cheeks. A third guard appeared.
"The princess is a symbol. Cecilia is not. Do you understand?", the guard asked. Sitting on the throne, appeared King Adlehyde. Cecilia begged:
"Please... Not you too, father".
"You knew no one loved you", the King spoke, "So, what's the surprise?". In front of Cecilia, appeared an all too familiar figure. It was herself, like she was before leaving on this dangerous adventure. With a long blonde hair and a white robe on her. Cecilia stared at her.
"Are you me?", she asked. The other Cecilia looked at her, and said:
"You requested this dangerous adventure because you wanted to be loved by someone... You're going to save the world because it's your duty as a princess. But, what you really want is sympathy. You hypocrite". Cecilia fell on her knees, rubbing the tears out of her eyes.
"Am I wrong?", she cried, "Answer me!". All she could now hear was the other Cecilia speaking:
"No one loves you... You don't love anyone... Wake up!".
Soon she could hear the familiar voice of Jack:
"Cecilia!". She removed her hands from her eyes, and saw the treasure hunter, along with Rudy.
"What happened?", she thought to herself as she noticed they all were standing on this square platform.
"I don't know about you two", Jack said, "But I had some sort of a flashback", he sighed, "An old wound". Rudy nodded and Cecilia was about to say something, when a voice stirred them all.
"This is the girl Stoldark has chosen?". Cecilia looked around herself:
"The voice inside my heart, is the voice of the Guardian". Another voice, identical to the other one, yet somehow different, yelled at the other voice:
"What a weak mind! The weakening of the world is really the weakening of the human soul. Gurdijeff! Do you really want to let this one decide Filgaia's destiny?".
"What? What do you hear?", Jack asked. A third voice emerged:
"Listen Moa Gault. We have no choice". Cecilia explained her friends:
"I can feel the emotions of the Guardians in my heart. The anger and rage... The doubt and sorrow". Jack had had enough. He shouted into the air:
"dang you... Show yourselves! Stop toying with us!".
The world darkened around the three *Dream Chasers*, and now all they could see was different colors, flashing around them. In front of them appeared a large, bluish-green lizard. It spoke in a voice, that Rudy, Jack and Cecilia recognized as the first of the voices that had emerged:
"I am the Earth Guardian, Gurdijeff. We heard you answer our call...". On this creature's left side, appeared a giant, fiery bird. It began speaking in the voice, that the humans had heard as the second one:
"I am the Fire Guardian, Moa Gault. I have looked into your soul, it is weak and vulnerable. It is not strong enough to defeat the demons, who we have been fighting with for the past thousand years". The third voice's source, appeared on the left of Gurdijeff. It was a great white tiger, and it spoke:
"I am the Wind Guardian, Fengalon. We are the spirits of the Guardians, and we need your help". A moment of silence spread, then Gurdijeff spoke once again:
"You may be right, Fengalon. Look at them... They look defeated. Nevertheless, they are our only hope". Jack took a step towards the three mysterious figures, and in an angry tone, yelled:
"I'm not deaf or blind! dang you! Why have you been showing us these illusions? Answer me, Guardians!".
"You must understand...", the three Guardians spoke as one, "We do not have enough power to fight the demons. We must get the *Tear Drop* back! We need its power to defend Filgaia". Cecilia was stunned.
"The *Tear Drop*?! How do you know?", she asked the Guardians. Moa Gault, the fiery bird answered:
"We know... We can feel its power. The *Tear Drop* is the light that gives life...". Gurdijeff, as if taking Moa Gault's place, continued:
"Yes, it's the same light that gives us life... Which means you hold the key to our existence...". Cecilia was amazed at this, but the thing bother her now, was what would the demons want with the *Tear Drop*. She asked the Guardians:
"What do the demons want with the *Tear Drop*? Do they want to destroy the world with it?".
"With the *Tear Drop*, it is possible", Gurdijeff answered, "The demons, however, are trying to use it to revive their master, the Mother".
"The Mother?", Jack wondered, "So, that's the name of their master, huh?". The Guardians, once again spoke as one:
"Warriors! Do you still seek our power?!".
"We can't possibly to this ourselves...", Cecilia tried to say, but was cut off by Jack.
"I want the power... I want to defeat them...". Gurdijeff spoke to Jack:
"Because you are weak, you seek power... We shall give you the power, that you seek, but time is running out. You will have the power to summon us into your reality. Take our powers before they weaken even further and stop the demons from regenerating the Mother. We shall send our warriors to their lair".
"How is that possible?", Cecilia asked them.
"We have our ways... We can sense the power of the *Tear Drop*.", Fengalon answered.
"The only way a warrior, with a weak mind, is able to defeat the enemy is by striking at its heart", Moa Gault explained, "Come now, show us your faith and leap!". After saying this, Fengalon and Moa Gault disappeared. Gurdijeff stayed, and tried to tell the warriors:
"To reclaim the *Tear Drop*, we...". Suddenly, a powerful force, that the three humans could feel in their hearts, struck and Rudy, Jack and Cecilia, appeared on the same square platform, that they had been on before.
"What happened...?", Cecilia asked her two friends. They could hear Gurdijeff's voice in the air:
"That was a shock from the Dark Spear of Zeikfried. We are not strong enough to transport to the battle". A long period of silence occured, and the humans listened carefully for any sounds. Then, finally, Gurdijeff spoke again:
"Go now... I will guide you to your destiny. You must prevent Mother...".
"Gurdijeff!", Cecilia yelled, as she could hear the voice thin out and finally disappear into the air. All of the three humans then felt as if the ground was pulled from under their feet, and as if they fell into a deep sleep.
The *Tear Drop* is a source of life. It should not be used for the birth of destruction.
Meanwhile, in a secret lair, far from the Guardian Shrine, stood a big human-like creature. It was wearing a silver armor, just like a knight's, and on its back was a red cape. Under this creature's feet, was a transparent floor, of which the snowy outside surroundings could be seen from, and around the creature, were some sort of tubes, filled with some sort of liquid. In front of him, was the biggest of these tubes, and inside, a giant cocoon, that this creature was now looking at.
"That danged Guardian!", the creature yelled, "He scanned this area with his mind!". Next to this creature, appeared another creature, this one resembling a female human. This creature had a red hair, and was wearing a purple dress. On its back was a big scythe. This creature laughed:
"His scans have been shut off, Zeikfried. The Duke's mansion is superb", the creature took a bit of a more serious attitude, "But now we know the humans are in contact with the Guardians. We have a few problems...". The creature, who was referred to as Zeikfried, turned around and answered the other creature:
"Dear Lady Harken, when the fight is lost, the decay begins. Look at this place, it's a dying land of cowards! Humans, Elws and the Guardians... Their defenses are no longer effective. They don't even have a world to defend. We have nothing to fear from the Guardians". Opposite of the creature spoken of as Lady Harken, on Zeikfried's other side, appeared a thrid creature. This one floated in the air, and was covered in a white robe. Its head was made, or covered, in some sort of a golden crown.
"That is correct, my lord", this creature spoke to Zeikfried, "Now that the Elws are no longer helping the humans, they don't stand a chance". Now a fourth creature, this one resembling a mix between a giant ape, and a lizard, with a long tail and a green skin, walked over to the other three.
"I know, Alhazad", the creature laughed at the floating one, "When I watch them squirm in the flames, I can feel my power...". Lady Harken turned towards this green creature, and yelled at it:
"We could have gotten the *Tear Drop* with less destruction, Belselk". Belselk roared at Lady Harken and yelled:
"What? What are you talking about, you newby!".
"Both of you, stop it!", Zeikfried's thunderous voice yelled at the two. He turned back to face the giant cocoon in the tube.
"We, the Quarter Knights gather for a single purpose", he spoke, "We must break the seal which binds our leader, Mother. The dreaded Guardian seal must be undone". Belselk laughed:
"Sorry... this one is mine", and then walked off.
"Why should he have all the fun?", Alhazad complained and then teleported away, the same way he had arrived. Lady Harken looked after Belselk, as he disappeared out of her view, and then teleported away.
"Mother", Zeikfried began speaking to the giant cocoon, "when you finally wake, will the rest of the Quarter Knights share our dreams?".
I want this is there any way you could send the two books to me when your done and Kyle you were wrong with the leave some what out that's all though.
I'll probably keep posting new chapters here. And if I later feel like not posting them here anymore, I will most likely put them in the Internet where people can buy or download them, when the second book is finished.

Is the dialogue straight out of the game?
In any case, this chapter was much smoother to read, it was good.
Edit: Don't try to sell it though, you'll get into trouble
It's not your original material.

You should post them on the Wild ARMs official forums and on other publishing sites as well.
Took quite long, cause I'm lazy. But here's the next chapter anyway.
Chapter 3
The Statues
In a flash of light, Rudy found himself falling to the ground. He fell so fast, he was afraid he would be shattered to a million pieces when landing, but before he hit the ground, he felt as if an invisible force had grabbed him, and carefully placed him to the grassy ground.
As he pushed himself up from the ground, Rudy gazed to his left finding Jack next to him, also getting on his feet. They both looked around. It seemed they had landed in a grassy clearing in the middle of a forest. Over their heads, there were leaves flying, carried by the strong wind.
Rudy soon noticed Cecilia laying on the ground next to him. He kneeled next to her and helped her up. Cecilia shook her head in daze, and slowly got to her feet.
"Where are we?", Jack asked his two friends, even though he fully knew they couldn't provide him with an answer. Cecilia quickly answered:
"The place of the seal. Gurdijeff said he would lead us here". She then looked around the place, but her eyes did not find what they were looking for.
"But... It doesn't seem like there's anything here...", she wondered, "Mother... That's the last thing I heard before I fainted".
"You're saying the demon boss is buried somewhere around here?", Jack asked her, looking around the place. "I don't like this... Not at all... Being dragged everywhere by the Guardians and having to save the world...".
"What is this?". All of a sudden, Cecilia noticed she was holding three stone slabs. They had the carvings of the Earth Guardian, the Fire Guardian and the Wind Guardian.
"These slabs contain the spirits of Gurdijeff and the other Guardians", she explained, "What is this seal that the Guardians are willing to risk the last of their strength to protect?".
As the day passed on, the three *Dream Chasers* tried to use the map to find out where they were. Jack and Cecilia thought they had worked out where they were, as Rudy came from the forest with Hanpan. Jack explained where he thought they were:
"I believe we are on a large island south of Milama. I've never been here before, but I think the ships don't come here".
"So you are saying we can't get away from here before a ship sails by. Which could very well not happen in a long, long time?", Cecilia yelled at him.
"Hey, don't scream at me", Jack said, "It isn't my fault the Guardians sent us in the middle of nowhere". Cecilia responded:
"You know they are losing the powers. There was nothing they could do".
A silence spread, until Hanpan spoke:
"Oh yes, I almost forgot. Me and Rudy saw a sign in the forest. It said there should be a village named Baskar, just 4 miles north-east, but I don't think it's wise to leave there now. It's getting dark". Jack looked at the sun, which was setting behind the west mountains.
"I think we should leave. I've never been on this island, who knows what kind of monsters lurk in here at nights. We can walk 4 miles before the sun sets by ease. We can sleep once we get to Baskar".
"So, it's settled", Cecilia answered, "Let's get moving".
The three, along with their Wind Mouse companion, made it through the forest, where they soon found the sign Hanpan had been talking about. The sun was quickly falling behind the mountains. As the *Dream Chasers* made it through the forest, some long plains laid in front of them. The mountain range had ended within the forest, and the sun was now floating above the west seas, which could be seen in the far distance.
They continued their way through the plains, and they could see a settlement coming closer to them, step by step.
They entered in between some cliffs, that surrounded this settlement. Passing a sign, that read "Welcome to Baskar", Rudy, Jack and Cecilia saw dozens of people around them, with a dark skin and wearing feathers on their heads, as if a hat or something. The peoples' clothes were poor and dirty. There were small farms all around the place. Small buildings made of wood, and even smaller tipis were built around the town, to provide settlement for the people.
"I wonder if this place has any beds to offer for worn travellers", Jack laughed at his friends, as he saw a dog run past him. Cecilia looked around, with sad eyes. The people looked happy, but she couldn't but worry about the condition their lives were in.
"Come on", Jack said and the party made their way deeper into the village. As they walked along these people, they pointed at the outsiders and Cecilia could hear whispeing such as:
"Look. There they are" or "Just like the chief told us". The three outisders were stopped by one of the village's inhabitants, who came running at them. He took Rudy by his arm and began dragging him into the biggest house in the village.
"Come, quickly. You must see the chief", the villager said and dragged Rudy into the wooden house. Jack and Cecilia followed after.
Inside, the first thing Cecilia noticed was that there was no floor inside, but that they were standing on the grass. The wooden walls were covered in either beautiful vases hanging by ropes, or bows which were hanging by nails. There was a one big bed in the far corner of the house. The only natural light in the house, which there wasn't much at this time of the evening, came through the small hole in the roof. As they followed down the smoke which escaped through that hole, they found a small campfire, which by sat an old man, with a colorful dress and many feathers on his head. Next to him was sitting a big dog, with a long, white fur which showed the dog's old age. The old man laughed:
"Come and sit, younglings". Rudy, Jack and Cecilia looked at each other, but finally decided to sit opposite the old man, next to the campfire. The dim light didn't show much of the man's face, except the scars and wounds of many years. The old man spoke:
"I've long forgotten my name, but I am the leader of the Baskar people. I've foreseen your arrival in my dreams".
"So that's why the people seemed so weird about us", Cecilia quickly said. The Baskar chief laughed, with his deep and old voice:
"Yes. But now, listen warriors of the Guardians. As you know, our mortal enemy, the demon race, is approaching. They are after the Guardian statue in the Zenom Mountains. In order to conquer Filgaia, they must destroy the three Guardian Statues that hold the three broken pieces of their Queen's heart". Jack shook his head.
"The three Guardian Statues?", he asked, "I've never heard of those". The chief smiled at him and explained:
"During the war 1000 years ago, the demon Queen's heart was torn into three pieces and sealed in three separate Guardian Statues. They are planning an all out attack after the revival of their Queen".
"We must stop them!", Jack said, "But we are not much of a help if we cannot rest first. We've had a long journey behind us".
"Yes", the old chief spoke, "There may not be much time, but as it is said within the Baskar people, a warrior with hunger is not much of a warrior at all. You can sleep and fill your hunger in my house for the night, but when the sun rises, you must head to Zenom Mountains, and rescue the Guardian statue".
The night darkened, and to the *Dream Chaser's* amazement, the chief did not move, nor say another word during the whole evening.
"dang, how can they sleep in this cold of houses", Hanpan complained, "I mean, I've slept in the wilderness, but it's much colder in here or some reason".
"Stop complaining. Or would you rather sleep in one of those tipis?", Jack grinned at his Wind Mouse, whom was already snoring in his coat's pocket. Rudy was sitting in the corner, leaning against a wall, and checking their backpack for supplies. Jack and Cecilia were sitting on the bed.
"See? The Guardians sent us over here on purpose. To defend that Guardian statue", Cecilia told Jack, who muttered back:
"I doubt it. Besides, I don't like the way those Guardians were playing mind games on us". Cecilia sighed:
"Well, at least they gave us these runes", she held the three stone slabs in her hands, "They oughta be giving us some more power to fight the demons". Jack took one of the slabs into his hand.
"I wonder how we are supposed to summon the Guardians when we need to?", he asked Cecilia.
"I guess we'll just have to ask for their aid, or something". Jack took another of the runes from Cecilia, and threw it to Rudy, who catched it.
"I guess we all should have one. I can feel these things giving us strength, even when we only carry them".
The next morning, Jack woke up to see Rudy and Cecilia already up, talking with the chief. Hanpan was still sleeping in his pocket.
He got up and walked over to the campfire which had burned out during the night. He asked his friends:
"So, are you ready to head to the Guardian statue?". Rudy and Cecilia nodded. The old chief adviced them:
"Zenom Mountain is to the north of here. Go, warriors of the Guardians and protect the Guardian Statue. I believe that you are the callers of *Zephyr*, the west wind of hope. Go visit the *Wind Caller's Altar*. The guard there should be of some help".
Rudy, Jack and Cecilia left the chief's house, and were met by the beautiful sunshine of the morning.
"The *Wind Caller's Altar*?", Cecilia asked her two friends. Rudy shrugged.
"Maybe it has something to do with that?", Jack pointed at a small pyramid shaped altar north of the village. They walked along the people, who laughed in joy at the beautiful day. As they came over to the altar, they saw a villager guard the steps, which led to the top of the altar.
"Your party was summoned by *Zephyr*. Step up to the Wind Callers Altar and summon the west wind". Jack looked at his two friends and said:
"Alright, I guess it won't do any harm, since the chief told us to. I'll go".
"Hurry up, we are losing time!", Cecilia yelled at Jack, who was climbing the stairs up.
Cecilia and Rudy looked as Jack stood on the altar for many minutes, but nothing happened. Finally, the guard walked up the stairs and explained:
"It looks like the west wind of hope... *Zephyr* is not answering your call". Jack cursed and walked back down. As the guard followed him, he explained:
"*Zephyr* is the name of hope people have long forgotten. *Gurdijeff*, *Moa Gault*, *Fengalon*, *Stoldark*... The Guardians' names are the real names for earth, fire, wind and water, which we humans have long forgotten... It is not because of the battle with the demons, it is us humans who are responsible for the weakening of the Guardians".
"Yeah, yeah", Jack answred, "Now, if you'll excuse us, we have an important mission to accomplish". He grabbed Rudy and Cecilia by ther arms and they walked past the altar, heading north. In the distance, they could hear the guard yell:
"Come back again... The Wind will answer if you become the true caller of *Zephyr*!".
As they had travelled for a short distance, Jack began cursing:
"dang, what was the point of that? All we did was lose valuable time!". Hanpan laughed:
"Looks like someone's mad that he didn't manage to contact *Zephyr*".
"Didn't you listen to the words of the guard. That's what the Baskar chief told us to do", Cecilia spoke, "I mean...", but Jack cut him off:
"Whatever... let's just make it to Zenom Mountain before noon". They walked over three hours without stopping, and Rudy counted that they had come more than 20 miles from Baskar. They were all sweaty and tired, when they suddenly discovered a huge stone circle in the middle of the plains. In the middle of the circle, was a small altar.
"Pah, altars!", Jack sighed and Rudy and Cecilia grinned at each other. For another half an hour, they continued walking, until they saw a huge mountain range in the distance, but one of the mountains was higher than the rest, reaching all the way above the clouds.
"You wanna bet we just found Zenom Mountains?", Jack smiled at his friends.
The *Dream Chasers* had soon made their way to the mountain's wall, which seemed even higher from there.
"Ladies first", Jack winked at Cecilia. The princess began climbing the mountain wall, step by step, and to Jack's and Rudy's amazement, she was pretty good at climbing.
"Rudy?", Jack passed the backpack to the silent boy, who just nodded, put the backpack onto his back, and began climbing the wall. Jack followed soon after.
The climb was slow and long, with many moments of fear or someone about to fall. The three travellers climbed for two hours, until they noticed they were above the clouds.
"Watch out!", Cecilia yelled from above the others, "It will get slippery from here on. It's snowing here!".
"I hate snow!", Jack sighed.
Suddenly, huge rocks and boulders of ice began falling from above, and before Jack knew it, he was hanging by one hand, just avoiding one of the rocks. He took a firm grip of the stone wall with both his hands, and sighed in relief.
"Everyone ok?", he asked his friends. Rudy nodded and Cecilia answered positively. But just as she did, another boulder of ice fell and hit her straight in the head. The princess tried to hold on, but her fingers slipped and she fell down. Rudy, who was standing on a narrow ledge, noticed this and managed to catch her onto his arms.
"Thanks Rudy", Cecilia cried out.
"Jack...", Rudy groaned, trying not to fall himself, "Take my backpack, so we fit onto this ledge". Jack did as Rudy asked, and they continued climbing.
They finally found a big ledge, covered in snow. For a second, they all thought they had come to the top of the mountain, but they could see it continued even further into the sky.
"Are you ok, Cecilia?", Jack asked, as he saw her bleeding from the head, "Rudy, bandage her up before we move on". Cecilia told back:
"There's no need. I'm fine... Except for my fingers, they're freezing".
Rudy then noticed a Baskar villager standing at a small hole in the mountain wall. He pointed at him, so the others could see him too.
The three got up, and walked over to the man, who spoke:
"I am *Zephyr's* messenger. I believe you will be victorious", he looked at the cave in the mountain wall, "Go in, it is a much faster route to the top through there". The *Dream Chasers* nodded at the man, and went into the cave.
The cave was cold, but full of light, because of the burning torches on the walls. There were huge stone stairs, leading up in circles.
Rudy, Jack and Cecilia began walking the stairs, which seemed hundreds of years old. Their own breath turned visible for the three humans, because of the cold air surrounding them, but it wasn't cold for them anymore. Not after climbing the stairs for another half an hour.
As they finally made it to the end of the stairs, they found themselves at the top of the mountain. They stepped out of the cave, back into the snow. On the very edge of the ledge they were standing on, was a statue of a horned beast, staring at the three adventurers.
"Is this the statue of the God of the Seal?", Cecila asked, mostly from herself. Suddenly, a sword of lighting hit on the statue, and sent the *Dream Chasers* flying on their backs. They quickly got up though, and were by Belselk, whom was floating in the air with some sort of magic. The green demon waved his long tail with joy and yelled:
"It's too late! We undid the...", but Jack stopped him.
"Belselk?!", he yelled in anger. Belselk looked at the three humans and smiled.
"So, you got here before me... Oh well, it doesn't matter... Orga Widow, go play with them!". Suddenly, Jack noticed a shadow growing under his feet and he quickly jumped backwards, pulling his friends with him.
As Jack landed on his feet, and Rudy and Cecilia landed on their backs, a giant spider fell between the humans and the statue.
Jack pulled out his sword and took a firm position, waiting for the giant spider's next move. The spider did not move, however, and Jack grew inpatient. He jumped in the air, attempting one of his Fast Draw maneuvers, but the spider jumped aside and used one of its eight legs to send Jack flying against a rock.
Cecilia tried to cast a fireball spell against the spider, but before she could do it, the spider tried to bite him. Cecilia just barely managed to dodge the spider's big, poisonous teeth, and fell down into the snow, almost falling off the ledge. Rudy ran over to her, and helped her up. Cecila jumped away, as the spider shot a giant amount of web from its eyes. Rudy, however, got caught in the web, and couldn't move anywhere.
The spider, which Belselk called Orga Widow screamed in joy with a horrible voice, as Rudy tried to reach his sword to cut the web. Cecilia had ran over to the other side of the ledge, to help Jack. The old treasure hunter got to his feet and noticed that the giant spider was about to bite Rudy.
"Oh no!", Jack yelled, "You aren't going to get him poisoned again!". Jack ran over and cut one of Orga's hindlegs. The beast screamed, but this time in agony. It turned to face Jack, but just as it did, Rudy managed to grab his sword and cut the web loose. He charged and cut the spider's other hindleg. Again, Orga Widow screamed in horrible pain, and tried to crawl towards the three humans.
"Come on Cecilia, use some spell or something!", Jack yelled. Cecilia nodded and pointed her magic rod towards the spider. With gigantic power, Orga Widow flew off the ledge, down into the ground.
"Alright, Belselk", Jack turned to face the demon, but noticed that he was gone. They then noticed the statue had been broken into half, and they could hear a hollow voice speak into their minds:
"The power inside grows weak... The seal cannot provide me with a link to the girl...". Cecilia then noticed another stone slab in her hand, which had the carving of the Summit Rune. However, Cecilia did not care about this, but rather of the statue which was now destroyed. She cried:
"The statue of the God Seal has been broken. The return of Mother is becoming a reality. I can't believe the *Tear Drop* is being used for such horrors ". Jack looked at the statue, then spoke:
"There are two more statues left. We must defend them". He turned away and spoke quietly to himself. Rudy could hear him sighing:
"Give me the *Power*... The *Power* I need to defeat them. The *Power* to destroy everything!".
"Come on, let's go!", Cecilia said. They began heading back down. The stone stairs didn't seem as cold this time, as they followed them down.
They exited the cave, finding the Baskar villager still standing there, all by himself. As Jack was about to lower himself down the ledge, the Baskar villager grabbed him by his shoulder.
"Just now, I have felt the seal holding the Queen of the demons break. Messenger of *Zephyr*, please notify the elders of this situation. We must act quickly". Jack smiled and nodded at the man, and lowered himself down from the ledge. He started the long climb down, following Rudy and Cecilia.
Meanwhile, within the demon base, inside the cocoon which was firmly floating in the strange liquid in the big glass tube, the Mother's words grew stronger and echoed through the room.
"It's dark... I can't see...", her words became clear, "I can't hear anything... My precious Zeik... My children...Let me see you... Let me hear you...".
In front of the tube, came a tall man with pale skin and a green, tangly hair. On his back he had a sword. He laughed to himself, with a childish voice:
"That was easy... All this talk about seals... Who cares about the Quarter Knights! Now that Mother is awake! I can go on with my career. Glory's up ahead!". The man laughed as the cocoon grumbled behind him, in the tube.

Chapter 3
