How do I drink red scorpion blood for the final milk?

Killing doesnt seem to count, no items are dropped and I've talked to everyone in the city with no result
Blood from an actual red scorpion appears on its corpse, its Dead sprite.
So how do I drink it? Ive tried everything imaginable. Walking over the blood splatter doesnt help. No item is picked, except the gold. I kill and wallk over 4 scorpions and it doesnt get acknowledged, and ive killed them in different ways.
According to the scripts you should automatically drink the blood when the scorpion dies. I think you need to have (or have given to the goblin) the beef jerky... not too sure because I haven't played this myself for ages.
The best i can imagine is talking to the person who gave you the quest again to possible reactivate it and then go back to scorpion hunting if it doesn't help i'm afraid it could mean that you have to start from scratch. or it could also mean ou'v already finished the quest so talk to the third creature again to check(or better yet if enough space in your inventory left to the lady in the store for immunity potions and if you have the right gems *spoiler cheat alert* drink them and right after activate the gem that balances your stats to make the effect permanent and spread across your stats *cheat end*
