There is version of Dink that is supposed to play on Nintendo DS, but it never really worked out as far as I know. Beuc probably let it mostly go. I have no idea.

Beuc was working on a version for PSP, not Nintendo DS as far as I know...

A DS version of Dink would be really difficult to do, considering how little RAM you have available on the DS (4 MB) and so many big resources saved in an uncompressed format. I'm sure that one screen would contain more memory's worth of pictures than the DS could hold at once. All the tiles, sprites, animations etc. and then there's the sounds... You'd DEFINITELY need a 16 MB memory expansion (like the one that comes with the DS browser) for it to even be feasible.

Exactly.

I guess one could make a modified version of Dink Smallwood with pre-resized graphics to fit the small memory though.

Then there's still the problem of being able to only play the original Dmod, not any others with their own graphics. Unless you load the resources one by one, resize, and save them back, I guess, which would introduce a first-time loading time for each Dmod.

Let me heat that up for you...
Surely the DS has a smaller screen resolution? Meaning you don't need large images?

Hey you can use additional RAM from Slot 2. Just need something like EZFlash 3 in 1.

The Voice in the back of your head!
yeah that could work. also an detail that popped up in my mind is the dual screens of the DS(which actually also is the full length name of it ). it could give ou in some D-mods a bit of a unfair advantige(for example the use of elixers way faster then normally possible(but many will apprecieate that i think). and there also is the D-mods that have button activated programming. i dunno how far that can be done on any handheld.

But you still need to load them, and then store the converted small versions somewhere (in RAM won't do - there's just 4 (+ 16 for expansion) MB for that and it should be reserved to load/save the next graphic).

You mean any memory expansion at all. Already mentioned it.
