A question for coders:
How do you create sprites that fit in with Dink?
What is a good software for this!

Create a 3D model using something free like Blender 3D, Anim8or, Art of Illusion or some other 3D modelling program, then render the object as a BMP image and convert to the Dink pallete. You may need to fiddle around with a bunch of different textures before finding one that converts to Dink Pallete well.

Tag - Umm.. tag, you're it?
Remember also DD the original graphics are old looking so any bright shiny new whatevers would just look out of place

I know... I know. Just how do you convert it to Dink pallette? Should I use DinkersPal?

That's why I said to experiment with textures.

"Just how do you convert it to Dink pallette?"

What I generally do is simply open up a BMP already in the Dink pallette (such as one of the menu screen buttons that come in a Skeleton), and simply paste my image over the top and do a 'save as' to my own location. This also allows me to immediately see how the texture looks in the Dink pallette.

Oh, NOW YOU'VE DONE IT!
You don't need to do that. 1.08 supports 24 bit bitmaps.

Even though, toast, I, personally prefer having all my images in the Dink pallette. I know that may seem illogical and unreasonable, but I just like it like that. Besides, often it seems that most 24 bit BMPs seem to look a little weird when placed with other Dink graphics.

Well I never bother converting anything to dink palet - I do it the idiot proof way - I use paint shop pro - open the tile preset bitmap (ts39.bmp) and insert the new graphic into it.

Unselect what u just inserted, Reselect, cut to size u want etc and save as a new name.bmp - that converts it automatically. If u are doing heaps and heaps you will have to do as a batch (or one at a time - *yawn*)

Edit: Dang DinkDude lol you are a speedy wee fella Textures or filters - there's some awesome filters for dinky )
