I know many good romps, they are quick, usually very polished and funny. They want to deliver a story or joke quickly without much need for excessive testing.

This isn't a romp, and whomever labeled it as such made a grave mistake.

Skurn has once again blessed us with their amazing storytelling and game making abilities, previously seen in classic, loved D-mods such as 'Sour', or 'Gummy'. even 'Worms' although that was early on.

This game is the epitome of Skurn's exemplary skill in creating D-mods. I personally don't think anything better can be created, although it would not surprise me if Skurn managed it.

I think i get why it is labeled as a romp. Skurn is playing with us. we are nothing but unwary creatures waiting to have our feelings toyed with.

There is an alternate ending. Hell, it is more of an alternate game!

I discovered this by accident, although upon looking at the files later on i would undoubtedly have realized how it is playing with us.
There is a duck right? at the end of a romp sized section of the game. This duck screen-locks the screen and tells you how the romp has ended. You are supposed to flail around your helpless appendages and scream in unholy sorrow at the unfairness of life. You love the game! Its dark humor, and the humane nature of its core. instead it is denied to you and you feel as though your life is now helpless, and devoid of meaning.

I'm sorry if I rant, this game makes me very emotional.

Point is, kill the duck before it speaks. you have about 5 seconds before it freezes you. Kill it as though your life depended on it, because it does.

if you kill it, the screen is unlocked and you can proceed east... into the epicness.

you liked the romp? you thought it was funny?
well prepare to have your mind blown open by the exactly perfect delivery of humor to follow. in an epic setting.

ok, I don't want to spoil you.

sorry, you should experience this for yourselves.

The good:
As I mentioned before, this game has insane amounts of humor, prepare to have your lungs implode and your face become a hot mess of emotions. I really like this.

The music fits the D-Mod so well, I really love the pacing, which is a thing most MIDI tracks don't incorporate well.

My favorite part of the game was the spire. it was so addicting and i wish it would go on forever. each floor being an increasingly funny pun upon the previous...

I did feel the ending was a bit rushed, but that's fine, the game definitively makes up for it.

The Bad:

They had to do it. of course

PONIES!!
they included images of ponies in almost every screen. it was fun at first, but it is a little bit too much later on.

A comment for Skurn, your strengths are your humanism and your humor. play this in your favor. it is hard to appreciate this when you are dying over and over again. consider making it slightly easier; make the wizard less overpowered.

Other than those two points, I find again this is one of the best D-mods out there.

PLEaSE KILL THE DUCKING DUCK!
