New Dev File: Ultimate Cheat v3.1

  • Version 3.1 (Ted Shutes with assistance from Paul "ManaUser"Pliska)
    • New function:
      • Scripted sprite detector.
    • Changes to existing features:
      • Information screen:
        • new line shows row and column of screen in 32x24 Dink world;
        • "Cur. weapon/Cur. magic" line abbreviated to avoid occasional wrapping to a 2nd line.
      • "Warp to different screen" now automatically invokes "Warp within screen"on destination screen.
      • Title line of Save/Load menus is now green for Save, hot pink for Load.
    • - Bug fixes:
      • Cheat has been split into 12 separate scripts. This inconvenientstructure produces the following benefits, directly or indirectly:
      • The major 3.0 bug, stemming from assignment statements failing to work occcasionally, has not appeared in version 3.1.
      • The speed of the "Precision Attack" option has increased dramatically.
      • The Cheat can now have its own "damage" script, [ult]fir.c, to replacedam-fire, which was never intended for use in this context.
      • New functionality, such as the Scripted sprite detector, is now possible.
    • - Known Bugs:
      • No true bugs are currently known. Limitations due to the environmentremain, of course, such as the erasure of Save/Load title lines whenwritten over animated tiles.


Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything is just 'off'? I did... this file was sitting in my inbox for two days and I didn't even think about uploading it... I forgot to post the news for Midi Mayhem... I uploaded the French Translation like 10 days after I received it... and so on. Oh well... at least progress on FIAT v1.00 is going good.
