Well I don't know much about tub hazards, but dear, let me just say, my deepest condolences to your friend! That sounds absolutely terrible! To know that you've known a person for so long, and then to walk into a room to see that same person dead...it's all too much to bear on one's shoulders! I would know, since my Great-Aunt, one of the closest figures in my life, passed-away in a car accident; after being so close to her for 13 years, she was gone, just like that with a fingersnap.

Perhaps she passed away of old-age or an old-age-related illness? I have in fact heard of a couple of stories where a person passed away in a tub, but I don't have enough evidence to draw a conclusion that it's because of one thing. In fact, I vaguely remember these stories. I do remember one detail, though: that they involved very different situations.
