I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to.I guess. 
I dunno, Niven is still quite good, although that's tech, not magic. At lot of the works. I
m currently reading House of Leaves, but I don't think anyone could call that 'Teen' fiction, considering it's the most difficult book I've ever attempted to read.

Teen fiction has had elements of the supernatural in it for a long time, heck, look at Lovecraft or 'The dark is rising' saga. There is future sci-fi being published today, but that is also like magic, so you may not agree.

I can't tell you how often in the past year I've picked up a book that looked like a decent war novel, yet it turns out to be based on Al Qaeda or something equally inane.
