If you downloaded the file in metatarasal's link above, you should have a folder called lckunlckscrn.zip on your computer (probably on the desktop).
Open that and you'll see a file called KEY-85.d in there.
Leave that for a second, now go to My Computer, open (double click) C:, then open Program Files, then open Dink Smallwood, then open dink, then open Story.
Drag KEY-85.d from the other window into the Story window, then let it go!
That's it. Now in the game if you press "U" it should unlock the screen.
The other file, KEY-76.d, will let you lock the screen by pressing "L" if you drag that in aswell if you want.
Hope this helps. I think it's what you're looking for. If not and you've done this then sorry! I don't see how it could affect MIDI's or make the game freeze.
