I don't think many people will like it to just code a DMOD, having someone else making the storyline. Seeing your own idea come to life is quite important too. So be prepared to do some of the hard labor too. And even then, I doubt you'll find many people prepared to work together with you, unless you have made some good DMODs before.
Oh, and don't try to start on an epic, unless you're really really persistent. If you're new to DMODing you're going to find your earlier work really bad if you look back and you'll abandon the DMOD. Or you'll come up with an entirely different story halfway through, ending up with the same result.
I took 2 years of completely failed DMODs before I was able to release anything, primarily because I was aiming to high. After finishing two reasonable DMODs I was finally able to come up with something good. Examples of people who released a decent epic as their first DMOD are very rare.
Still, I hope you'll manage to pull through and release a good DMOD one day.
